Football fever is taking over Badagry Division as preparations intensify for the highly anticipated 2025 Ojelabi Football Championship, an annual grassroots sporting event set to discover raw football talents and foster unity among communities across the division.
Organizers announced that registration forms for interested teams and young players will be available from Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and the submission deadline is set for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Forms can be obtained and submitted at the Sanwo-Olu Campaign Office, Iyana Isashi, along the Badagry Expressway, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and promises a thrilling display of skills, passion, and teamwork as clubs from different parts of Badagry Division compete for glory and substantial cash prizes.
According to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), this year’s edition will reward the top three teams as follows:
🏆 First Place: ₦1,000,000
🥈 Second Place: ₦750,000
🥉 Third Place: ₦500,000
In addition to the mouthwatering prizes, football scouts from across Nigeria are expected to attend the championship, providing an opportunity for outstanding players to be scouted and possibly advance their professional football careers.
Speaking ahead of the kickoff, the LOC reaffirmed its commitment to using sports as a tool for youth development and social harmony.
“The Ojelabi Football Championship is not just about competition; it’s a platform to empower young people, promote discipline, and strengthen community relationships,” the committee stated.
