WORLD MISSION SOCIETY CHURCH OF GOD BRINGS HOPE TO LAGOS FAMILIES THROUGH FOOD DONATION DRIVE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Lagos, Nigeria | October 27, 2025 –
In an inspiring show of compassion and global solidarity, the World Mission Society Church of God has reached out to residents of Ikeja Local Government Area in Lagos, donating food items to 30 households as part of its worldwide “Hold Hope!” Campaign.

The initiative, organized to commemorate World Food Day (October 16), was launched to rekindle hope among individuals and families battling the harsh realities of food insecurity, poverty, disease, and economic instability.

The campaign spans multiple continents, providing relief materials to people in countries such as Nigeria, Kenya, Nepal, Mexico, the Philippines, and Ukraine.

On Sunday morning, five Church volunteers visited the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat, where they presented 30 cartons of assorted food items, including rice, beans, gari, semovita, spaghetti, tomato paste, vegetable oil, and canned fish, to families in need.

Representing the Church, a volunteer explained that the donation was inspired by the Church’s belief in caring for humanity with genuine love and empathy.

“These food packages were prepared with a mother’s heart — with care and concern for the well-being of our neighbors,” the representative said. “We want people to know that God’s love extends to everyone and that they can always find hope even in difficult times.”

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, commended the Church for its humanitarian spirit and commitment to uplifting the less privileged.

“We sincerely appreciate the World Mission Society Church of God for this thoughtful gesture. It is acts like this that remind our residents that they are not alone. We look forward to partnering with the Church in more community-focused projects,” he said.

One of the volunteers, Ms. Sotse Comfort, described her joy in participating in the outreach.

“I feel fulfilled to be part of this effort to share God’s love. I believe this gesture will inspire hope and bring comfort to those who need it most,” she noted.

The “Hold Hope!” initiative is one of several programs under the Church’s global project known as “Global Hope Supporters”, which supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The project focuses on poverty reduction, hunger eradication, environmental protection, education, and sustainable community development.

Earlier this year, the Church carried out a similar outreach across 25 countries, distributing essential supplies to over 6,400 households in observance of the World Day of Social Justice (February 20).

The World Mission Society Church of God is widely recognized for its broad humanitarian and volunteer programs across the globe.

Beyond food relief efforts, the Church is actively involved in environmental cleanups, blood donation drives, support for orphanages and elderly homes, and emergency disaster relief in regions affected by floods, wildfires, and earthquakes.
