The Lagos State Government has delivered a brand-new transformer to residents of Golden Paradise Estate, situated in the Mowokekere axis of Ikorodu Central, on October 29, 2025, in a continuous stride toward improving electricity access across Lagos communities.
The project, executed under the Lagos State Government’s Rural Electrification Initiative, was facilitated through the Office of Rural Development as part of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to ensuring sustainable power supply in rural area.
Receiving the transformer on behalf of the residents, the Chairman of Golden Paradise Estate Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Abolaji Oladeinde Frederick, expressed profound gratitude to the Lagos State Government for the timely intervention.
He lauded the initiative as a crucial step toward addressing the long-standing power outage challenges that had affected the community.

“We sincerely appreciate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Office of Rural Development for this wonderful gesture.”
“The new transformer will go a long way in resolving the electricity problems our estate has endured for quite some time,” Mr. Oladeinde said.
The CDA Chairman also commended the Office of Rural Development, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for ensuring the smooth execution and delivery of the project.
He acknowledged Dr. Agbaje’s active role in facilitating grassroots development and bringing impactful infrastructural projects to communities within the Ikorodu Division.
Mr. Oladeinde further noted that earlier in the year, the estate had also benefited from the same initiative through the installation of solar-powered streetlights, describing the continued government interventions as a “welcome development” that will greatly enhance the quality of life for residents.
The Rural Electrification Initiative remains one of the Lagos State Government’s flagship projects aimed at boosting access to reliable electricity supply, improving safety, and stimulating economic growth in underserved areas.
With the addition of the new transformer, residents of Golden Paradise Estate can now look forward to improved power stability, better business productivity, and enhanced living standards.

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, in his remarks, reiterated the state government’s resolve to bridge the infrastructure gap in rural communities, stating that the electrification drive aligns with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ developmental agenda—particularly the pillar focused on “Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy.”
“The Lagos State Government will continue to extend infrastructural development to every part of the state, ensuring that no community is left behind,” Dr. Agbaje assured.
The new transformer installation at Golden Paradise Estate adds to a growing list of electrification projects executed under the Sanwo-Olu administration, further solidifying the state’s commitment to inclusive development and improved service delivery for all Lagosians.
