SANWO-OLU RESTORES POWER TO HERITAGE ESTATE, IGBOGBO-BAIYEKU LCDA — LAGOS GOVT DELIVERS NEW TRANSFORMER THROUGH OFFICE OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, in fulfilment of his administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions of residents across Lagos State, through the Office of Rural Development, on Monday, 28th October 2025, delivered a brand-new electricity transformer to Heritage Estate, Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The gesture marks another milestone in the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural electrification and enhance access to essential infrastructure in underserved communities.

Speaking during the handover, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to bridging the infrastructural gap between urban and rural communities.

“The administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is deeply committed to ensuring that no community is left behind.”

“Electricity is a fundamental driver of economic growth and social well-being, and our focus is to restore power and hope to areas that have been long neglected.”

“The delivery of this transformer to Heritage Estate is a testament to that commitment,”

Dr. Agbaje emphasized that the gesture aligns with the Governor’s THEMES Plus Agenda, particularly under rural development and infrastructural expansion, aimed at empowering communities and enhancing local productivity.

In appreciation, the Chairman of the Heritage Estate Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Basiru Alami, expressed immense gratitude to the state government, noting that the community had endured several years of total blackout, which severely affected both social and economic activities.

“Our community has been in darkness for too long. Businesses suffered, security became a major concern, and social life was nearly nonexistent.”

“Today, we are overjoyed and deeply thankful to Governor Sanwo-Olu for remembering us and restoring light to our estate,” Mr. Alami said.

Residents of Heritage Estate also commended Dr. Agbaje for his proactive leadership and relentless efforts in ensuring that the community was reconnected to the electricity grid.

The newly installed transformer is expected to reconnect Heritage Estate to the national grid, bringing much-needed relief to households and small businesses in the area.

This intervention, once again, underscores the Lagos State Government’s dedication to rural inclusion, equitable infrastructure distribution, and sustainable community development, ensuring that all residents share in the dividends of good governance.
