Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, paid an appreciation visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Chairman in Ikorodu, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, at the party secretariat on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The visit formed part of Hon. Adesina’s ongoing post-tenure appreciation tour to leaders and stakeholders who supported his administration during his time in office.
During the visit, he presented a letter of appreciation, an award plaque, and a gift to Alhaji Animashaun in recognition of his steadfast support, guidance, and exemplary leadership throughout his tenure as council chairman.
Dignitaries who accompanied Hon. Adesina included Mr. Kehinde Ayanbadejo, Party Secretary; members of the Arewa community; former Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Lateef Afinni; Hon. Banwo Azeez; Hon. Shafari Murisiku, Councillor for Ward C; and Alhaja Rasheedat Bello, the APC Divisional Woman Leader.
Hon. Adesina expressed profound appreciation to Alhaji Animashaun and the party structure for their unwavering support. He noted that the success of his administration was largely due to the unity, cooperation, and dedication of the party leadership and members.
“I am here to personally thank our leader, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, for his unwavering support and fatherly role. His leadership ensured unity within the party and made governance easier at the grassroots. This visit is my humble way of saying thank you,” he said.
The APC Chairman of Ikorodu, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, commended Hon. Adeshina for his thoughtfulness and humility in acknowledging the party’s support.
He praised the former chairman’s leadership style and his commitment to the principles of the APC, describing his tenure as one that strengthened collaboration between government and party structures.
Alhaji Animashaun urged Hon. Adesina to remain actively involved in party activities, continue mentoring young members, and contribute to the continued growth and unity of the APC in Ikorodu.
