The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Ikorodu Division on the occasion of the 34th Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration, which runs from November 8 to 15, 2025.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Agbaje, a proud indigene of Ikorodu, described the annual celebration as more than a cultural festival, calling it a “living testament to the resilience, unity, and progressive spirit of the Ikorodu people.”

He praised the Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), traditional rulers, and community leaders for their tireless commitment to sustaining the festival and promoting harmony and development across the division.

“As a proud son of Ikorodu and a firm believer in the transformative power of community, I join all well-meaning citizens in celebrating this year’s Ikorodu Oga Day — a symbol of our unity, resilience, and enduring cultural pride,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

He emphasized that the annual celebration presents an opportunity for reflection on the town’s achievements and renewed commitment to the continuous advancement of Ikorodu’s socio-economic and cultural legacy.

Commending the organisers for keeping the spirit of the Oga Day alive for over three decades, Dr Agbaje highlighted the event’s significance in fostering communal ties and promoting development-driven dialogue among indigenes and residents.

“May this celebration rekindle our shared determination to advance Ikorodu’s prosperity through unity, innovation, and good governance. Let us continue to uphold the values that make our land great — unity, industry, and integrity,” he added.

Dr. Agbaje reaffirmed his support for initiatives that promote rural development, cultural preservation, and community empowerment in line with the vision of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

He concluded by congratulating all participants, visitors, and well-wishers of the 34th Ikorodu Oga Day, praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in the years ahead.

“May the Ikorodu Oga Day 2025 usher in a new era of peace, development, and boundless opportunities for all. Long live Ikorodu Division. Long live Lagos State. Long live Nigeria,” he declared.

The Ikorodu Oga Day, which holds annually in November, has evolved into a week-long celebration of culture, unity, and community excellence, drawing indigenes and guests from across Nigeria and the diaspora to celebrate the rich traditions and progressive strides of Ikorodu Division.
