The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, continued his flagship welfare outreach as the November edition of the Apo Anu support programme reached hundreds of households across the division.
The initiative, now firmly entrenched as one of the most relied-upon community welfare systems in Ikorodu, delivered food items and essential supplies to vulnerable families, widows, senior citizens, and residents battling the rising cost of living.
Beneficiaries from Ikorodu North, Ikorodu West, Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Imota, Ijede, and Ikorodu Central showed up in large numbers, underscoring the programme’s expanding influence and long-standing credibility among grassroots communities.
Hon. Bayo Lawson, APC Chairman of Ikorodu West, praised Benson’s unrivaled dedication to social support, describing Apo Anu as a stabilising force for many families.
He noted that only a leader deeply connected to the needs of his constituents could sustain such a consistent intervention.
Lawson also reminded residents to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasising the importance of active participation in governance.
Similarly, former Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Basanya, commended the lawmaker’s compassion and commitment to humanitarian initiatives.
He urged attendees to spread awareness about civic responsibility, stressing that community development thrives when residents engage meaningfully in the democratic process.
In his remarks, the CDC Chairman of Ikorodu North, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, highlighted Benson’s broader contributions, including improvements in infrastructure, education, community empowerment, and security.
He encouraged residents to pray for the legislator, noting that Ikorodu has witnessed unprecedented progress under his representation.
First-time beneficiary, Mrs. Imam Zainab, described the gesture as timely and impactful, noting that the food package would significantly aid her household in a period marked by economic strain.
Another recipient, Mr. Razaq Bankole, applauded Benson’s leadership, stating that the lawmaker’s interventions extend far beyond welfare, touching virtually every developmental sector in Ikorodu.
Rep. Benson’s Apo Anu remains a dependable support system, offering hope and relief to communities across the Ikorodu Division.
