LAGOS COMMUNITY DAY 2025: OFFICE OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT DELIVERS WELFARE PACKAGES TO VULNERABLE ENTITIES AHEAD OF  CELEBRATION ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Rural Development, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across the state.

As part of the activities lined up for the 2025 Annual Community Day Celebration, officials of the Office of Rural Development embarked on a series of strategic visits to support institutions on Monday, December 1, 2025.

According to Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, the visits were aimed at providing practical support to beneficiaries at Lofty Skills Academy in Ijede and the Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre in Isheri.

During the visits, welfare items including Indomie noodles, bags of rice, detergents, toiletries, and other essential items were presented to residents and beneficiaries of the institutions.

Dr. Agbaje emphasized that the initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing community welfare and supporting vulnerable groups across the state.

“The Annual Community Day Celebration provides an opportunity for the Ministry to reach out to those who need our support most.”

“These gifts, though modest, are intended to improve the daily lives of the beneficiaries and show that the government remains attentive to the needs of all communities,” Dr. Agbaje said.

Beneficiaries at both institutions expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for the timely assistance, noting that such interventions greatly enhance the quality of life for residents and provide hope for a better future.

The initiative forms part of a broader strategy by the Lagos State Ministry of Rural Development to strengthen social welfare programs and ensure inclusive support for all residents, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
