
The Lagos Culture Week 2025, themed “Empowering Local Creatives, Enriching Lagos Culture,” came alive on Monday, 1st December 2025, at Juicy Lagos, Victoria Island, with an impressive turnout of government officials, cultural enthusiasts, and creative stakeholders.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, was joined by Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, as well as Permanent Secretary Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila and several directors from the Ministry.
Their presence underscored the State Government’s commitment to supporting the creative industry and promoting cultural tourism.
Lagos Culture Week, a hallmark initiative of the State Government, served as a dynamic cultural curtain-raiser to the much-anticipated Detty December yuletide season.
Guests were treated to an electrifying atmosphere filled with music, artistic showcases, indigenous expressions, and interactive creative experiences that highlighted the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Lagos.
In his remarks, Mr. Aregbe emphasized the importance of supporting the creative sector, noting that Lagos Culture Week reinforces the government’s efforts to empower local artists and strengthen the creative economy.
Distinguished dignitaries in attendance echoed this support, reaffirming initiatives that position Lagos as a global cultural destination.
The Lagos Culture Week 2025 not only celebrated the artistic vibrancy of Lagos but also reinforced the government’s drive to cultivate a thriving cultural ecosystem, attract tourism, and ensure the city remains a premier hub for entertainment and festive activities.
