PRINCE KAYODE OLAIDE CELEBRATES SENATOR ADESEYE OGUNLEWE AT 82, HIGHLIGHTS HIS ROLE IN ADVANCING IBESHE’S EDUCATIONAL LEGACY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Former Minister for Works and respected Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, has received glowing commendations from Prince Kayode Olaide as he marks his 82nd birthday.

The Senator, an apex political leader in Ikorodu Division, was celebrated for his decades-long commitment to community development, particularly in education.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Prince Kayode described Senator Ogunlewe as “a pillar of progress in Ikorodu Division whose leadership continues to shape opportunities for young people.”

Prince Kayode highlighted the Senator’s influence in sustaining the educational legacy initiated by his father, the late Oba Adewamiri Ayokulehin Olaide, the revered founder whose advocacy secured the establishment of Ibeshe Community Grammar School.

The school was later renamed Keme Balogun College in honour of Ibeshe’s historic founder and subsequently split into junior and senior colleges in 2003, reflecting the area’s growing academic needs.

He announced the introduction of a new two-part scholarship initiative designed to preserve the legacy of Ibeshe’s trailblazing leaders.

The scheme comprises a memorial scholarship in honour of Oba Adewamiri Olaide and an additional scholarship funded by alumnus Prince Kayode Emmanuel Olaide, aimed at supporting students of the Keme Balogun colleges.

According to Prince Kayode, Senator Ogunlewe has played a “pivotal and inspiring role” in shaping the structure, planning, and vision of the scholarship programmes, ensuring they meet the needs of the current generation of learners while honouring the contributions of Ibeshe’s forebears.

The statement also confirmed the establishment of the Oba Adewamiri Olaide Memorial Foundation, created to drive community development projects in Ibeshe.

The foundation’s first major intervention was the launch of a borehole project at Keme Balogun Junior College in 2021, aimed at improving students’ welfare and learning conditions.

Since then, its scholarship initiative has expanded to cover all public schools in Ibeshe, including Methodist Primary School Ibeshe, Owode Primary School Ibelefun, Keme Balogun Junior College Ibeshe, Ibelefun Community Junior Grammar School Owode Ibeshe, Community Junior Grammar School Owode Ibeshe, and Keme Balogun Senior College Ibeshe.

Prince Kayode praised Senator Ogunlewe for lending both influence and support to the foundation’s early initiatives, noting that his guidance has strengthened the mission to uplift education and infrastructure in the community.

He concluded by wishing the elder statesman continued strength and good health, saying, “At 82, Senator Ogunlewe remains a beacon of service and an example of purposeful leadership for all of us committed to Ikorodu’s development.”
