The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, inspected the ongoing 5-kilometre road grading project at Ito Community in Isiwu, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), as part of efforts to deepen infrastructure development across rural communities in Lagos State.
The road grading project, which cuts deep into the rural axis of Ito Community, is already transforming the area by improving accessibility and easing the movement of people, goods and services.
Residents noted that the smooth grading has begun to stimulate economic activities, particularly for farmers, traders and transport operators who previously struggled with poor road conditions.

Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Agbaje explained that the project, being executed by the Office of Rural Development, aligns with the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to inclusive development that leaves no community behind.
According to him, the road intervention is designed not only to boost local economic activities but also to enhance security within the community by opening up previously inaccessible routes and improving connectivity with neighbouring areas.
“This road grading project is strategic. It is meant to unlock the economic potential of Ito Community, support rural livelihoods and also strengthen security through improved access,” Dr. Agbaje said.
Dr. Agbaje reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to continue investing in rural infrastructure such as roads, electricity and street lighting, stressing that sustainable rural development remains a key pillar of the Sanwo-Olu administration.

Community members expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the intervention, describing the project as timely and impactful, with expectations that it would further improve living standards and attract more economic opportunities to the area.
