Elemu Social Base Club has extended end-of-year relief to 75 households across Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), as part of its yuletide outreach aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and sharing goodwill during the festive season.
The welfare exercise, carried out to mark the end-of-year celebration, targeted households in need, with particular focus on elderly women within the communities.

Beneficiaries received food packages comprising rice, garri, salt, and other essential items to cushion the effects of economic hardship during the festive period.
Speaking at the distribution, the President of the club, Mr. Akande Adewale, said the initiative was conceived to redefine the public perception of social clubs as organizations that exist solely for leisure and entertainment.

According to him, the outreach demonstrates that social groups can serve as platforms for meaningful social impact and community development.
“This programme is about showing that social clubs can make a difference. Beyond socializing, we are committed to giving back to the people and supporting our communities, especially at a time like this,” Adewale said.

Also speaking, Lion Isola Oladimeji noted that the yuletide welfare outreach is part of a series of initiatives designed to enhance the wellbeing of residents and promote community development across Ijede and neighboring communities.
He emphasized that the club remains focused on projects that directly address the needs of the people at the grassroots.

The Organizing Secretary of the club, Mrs. Adenike Ajao, explained that beneficiaries were selected based on careful assessment of needs within the communities.
“The households were identified through need-based considerations, with priority given to elderly women and vulnerable families, to ensure the support reached those who needed it most,” she said.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the club for the timely intervention, describing the gesture as a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing during the festive season.

The Elemu Social Base Club reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining similar welfare and community development initiatives, noting that the yuletide outreach aligns with its broader vision of fostering social responsibility and inclusive development across Ijede LCDA and its environs.
