Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has commended the Nitel Estate Community Development Association (CDA) in Ikorodu, describing it as one of the best-performing CDAs in Lagos State.
Dr. Agbaje made the commendation on Saturday, December 27, 2025, while presenting an Award of Excellence to the Chairman of the Nitel Estate CDA, Mr. Bright Adesida, during the association’s annual end-of-year party.
According to him, the Lagos State Government recognises and appreciates the consistent efforts of the Nitel Estate CDA, particularly in the area of self-help and community-driven development projects that complement government initiatives at the grassroots level.
“The government is aware of the remarkable self-help projects being executed by the Nitel Estate CDA.”
“Your commitment to community development is commendable and worthy of recognition,” Dr. Agbaje said.
He encouraged the leadership and members of the CDA to sustain the momentum, stressing that community development is a continuous process.
Dr. Agbaje added that diligence and accountability naturally attract greater responsibilities, noting that “the reward of hard work is more work.”
Dr. Agbaje further assured the association of the Lagos State Government’s continued support for CDAs that demonstrate transparency, unity, and genuine commitment to the welfare of residents.

In the same vein, an Award of Excellence was also presented to Engr. (Dr.) Oluwagbemiga E. Ajiboye, Executive Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in recognition of his professional contributions to national infrastructure development and support for community-focused initiatives.
The event attracted residents, community leaders, and invited guests, who praised the Nitel Estate CDA for its impactful leadership and consistent pursuit of projects aimed at improving security, infrastructure, and general wellbeing within the estate.
The annual end-of-year party served as both a celebration of achievements and a platform to reaffirm the CDA’s commitment to advancing sustainable community development in line with Lagos State’s grassroots development agenda.
