Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has congratulated Chief Olabinjo Olarenwaju Jamiu on his installation as the Okanlomo of Ikorodu Kingdom, describing the honour as well-deserved and timely.
The installation ceremony was held on Friday, December 27, 2025, at the Palace of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, and attracted traditional chiefs, community leaders, family members, and well-wishers from within and outside Ikorodu Division.
In a congratulatory message, Dr. Agbaje praised Chief Olabinjo Olarenwaju Jamiu for his long-standing commitment to the growth, peace, and development of Ikorodu Kingdom, noting that his elevation reflects years of selfless service and loyalty to the traditional institution.
According to him, the title of Okanlomo carries significant responsibility, particularly in supporting the Ayangburen-in-Council in promoting unity, cultural preservation, and grassroots development across the kingdom.
“Chief Olabinjo Olarenwaju Jamiu’s installation is a recognition of his dedication to community service and his unwavering support for the traditional values of Ikorodu Kingdom. I am confident that he will bring wisdom, integrity, and developmental insight to this revered position,” Dr. Agbaje stated.
He further prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the newly installed chief as he discharges his duties, urging him to continue to be a bridge between the traditional institution, government, and the people.
The installation ceremony, performed in line with Ikorodu customs and traditions, marked another milestone in the preservation of the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage under the reign of HRM Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi.
