Residents of Ifesowapo Community Development Association (CDA), Oloja Estate, Epe, have expressed appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, following the provision and installation of a brand new electricity transformer in the community.
The commendation was made on Saturday, January 17, 2026, by the Chairman of Ifesowapo CDA, Alhaji Ijaodola Lateef, who described the intervention as a clear demonstration of the dividends of democracy and responsive governance at the grassroots level.
Alhaji Lateef noted that the transformer installation followed a formal request by the community and a subsequent needs assessment conducted by officials from the Lagos State Office of Rural Development.
According to him, the development has significantly improved power supply in the area and eased the long-standing electricity challenges faced by residents.
He further lauded the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his commitment and proactive role in ensuring that the transformer was delivered and installed in the community.
Speaking on the intervention, Dr. Agbaje explained that the project is part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Rural Electrification Initiative, aimed at improving electricity supply in underserved communities across Lagos State.
“The provision and installation of this transformer aligns with Mr. Governor’s vision to ensure inclusive development and improve the quality of life for residents in rural and peri-urban areas,” Dr. Agbaje said.
He added that several communities across the state have benefitted from the ongoing transformer distribution and installation exercise, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to bridging infrastructure gaps and promoting socio-economic development at the grassroots.
The CDA executives and community members described the development as timely and impactful, expressing optimism that improved power supply would enhance small businesses, security, and overall living conditions within Oloja Estate and its environs.
