IJEDE LCDA LAUNCHES MEASLES-RUBELLA  IMMUNISATION DRIVE FOR CHILDREN ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has commenced a Measles–Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign aimed at protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases and strengthening public health outcomes within the community.

The exercise was officially flagged off by the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce childhood morbidity and mortality through preventive healthcare.

According to the council leadership, the vaccination programme targets children between the ages of nine months and 14 years.

It also incorporates routine immunisation for children aged 0 to 23 months, alongside the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for nine-year-old girls.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba described the Measles–Rubella vaccine as a vital, life-saving intervention, stressing its importance in protecting children and securing a healthier future for the community.

She called on parents, guardians, and caregivers to support the initiative by making their children available for vaccination.

She further assured residents that qualified health personnel have been adequately trained and deployed to strategic locations across the LCDA to ensure a smooth and effective vaccination process throughout the duration of the exercise.

The week-long campaign is expected to significantly boost immunisation coverage and reinforce the council’s commitment to child health and disease prevention.
