IJAGEMO CENTRAL CDA HAILS SANWO-OLU AS ‘MR TALK AND DO’ OVER NEW TRANSFORMER INSTALLATION, APPLAUDS LASG’s RURAL ELECTRIFICATION INITIATIVE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, has been showered with encomiums by residents of Ijagemo Central Community Development Association (CDA) in Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), who described him as a true “Mr Talk and Do” following the delivery and installation of a brand new electricity transformer in the community.

The transformer was delivered to the Ijagemo Central community on Saturday, January 31, amid excitement and jubilation from community stakeholders and residents who turned out in large numbers to receive the long-awaited facility.

The development is expected to significantly improve electricity supply and enhance the quality of life for residents of the area.

The transformer was provided by the Lagos State Government through the Office of Rural Development under its Rural Electrification Initiative, a flagship programme aimed at addressing power challenges in underserved and rural communities across the state.

Over time, the initiative has facilitated the distribution and installation of transformers in several communities, boosting socio-economic activities and supporting grassroots development.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Mr. Ademola Mukaila Gbamgbade, a leader of the Central CDA, Ijagemo Community, expressed profound gratitude to the state government, noting that Governor Sanwo-Olu has consistently demonstrated empathy towards the challenges faced by rural communities.

According to him, the governor has shown a rare commitment to not only listening to the concerns of grassroots communities but also responding with prompt and practical interventions.

“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu truly understands the pains of rural communities. He listens to our complaints and acts swiftly. This transformer is a clear testament to his ‘Talk and Do’ leadership style,” Gbamgbade said.

He added that the installation of the brand new transformer would greatly enhance power supply in the community, reduce outages, and improve living and business conditions for residents.

Mr. Gbamgbade also specially commended the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his instrumental role in ensuring the successful delivery of the transformer.

He revealed that the intervention followed a formal request submitted to the Office of Rural Development, which was promptly attended to.

In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje reaffirmed the commitment of the Sanwo-Olu administration to rural development, stressing that the Rural Electrification Initiative remains a key pillar of the government’s THEMES PLUS agenda to bridge infrastructural gaps between urban and rural areas.

He noted that several communities across Lagos State have already benefited from the initiative and assured that more underserved areas would continue to receive support.

“The Rural Electrification Initiative is designed to ensure that no community is left behind. Governor Sanwo-Olu has clearly affirmed his prioritisation of rural communities, so they can enjoy better infrastructure and fully partake in the dividends of democracy,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

He urged communities to continue engaging constructively with government agencies and to take ownership of public infrastructure to ensure sustainability and long-term benefits.

“The delivery of the transformer to Ijagemo Central CDA stands as another testament to the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening grassroots development, improving public utilities, and effectively responding to the needs of residents across the state,” Dr. Agbaje added.
