MINISTRY HAILS LSCDAC FOR SUCCESSFUL AWARDS CEREMONY, STRENGTHENS WATERWAYS SAFETY COLLABORATION ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has lauded the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council (LSCDAC) for the successful hosting of its recent awards ceremony, which recognised notable political figures and community leaders for their contributions to the development of Lagos State.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, gave the commendation at the Council’s maiden strategic meeting for 2026, describing the event as a well-conceived initiative that appropriately celebrated individuals whose leadership and service have helped shape the progress of the state.

Mrs. Bolarinwa praised the Council’s vision in spotlighting excellence and community impact, noting that such recognition reinforces collective responsibility toward sustaining the ideals of a Greater Lagos. She also reaffirmed the Ministry’s appreciation of the Council’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development.

She further commended LSCDAC for its continued alignment with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration, assuring members of the government’s sustained backing in ensuring that governance delivers tangible benefits to communities across the state.

Responding, the Chairman of the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its consistent guidance and support, which he described as critical to the smooth operations and effectiveness of the Council.

He acknowledged that the Ministry’s enabling environment has strengthened the Council’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.

The strategic meeting also featured a sensitisation session by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), which engaged community leaders on collaborative measures to enhance safety along Lagos waterways.

The agency outlined plans to work closely with CDAC members in riverine and coastal areas to curb boat accidents while empowering residents with sustainable maritime skills to improve livelihoods and economic independence.
