Residents of Oluja Community Development Association (CDA), Lasuwon, in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), have expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government following the delivery of a brand new electricity transformer to the community.
The transformer was officially presented on February 8, 2026, under the Lagos State Government’s rural electrification initiative, implemented through the Office of Rural Development.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Chairman of Oluja CDA, Mr. Adeleke Adepoju, lauded Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for what he described as a timely intervention aimed at addressing persistent power challenges in the area.
According to Adepoju, the community had endured prolonged electricity shortages and had long awaited the provision of a new transformer to improve power supply and enhance the quality of life of residents.
He noted that the gesture reflects the governor’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
The CDA chairman also extended appreciation to the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for ensuring that the community’s request was followed through to completion.

In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje disclosed that hundreds of communities across Lagos State have so far benefited from the rural electrification programme.
He added that more communities are slated to benefit, stressing that Governor Sanwo-Olu has made the development of underserved and rural areas a priority of his administration.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving electricity infrastructure as a catalyst for socio-economic growth at the grassroots level.
Pastor Tunde Oke, the CDA Secretary; Pastor Adeleke Bodunrin; Mr. Felix Ako; and Mrs. Oladeji were among the executives who received the transformer.
