
As the world commemorates International Women’s Day 2026, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has celebrated the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women across the state, particularly those in rural communities.
In a message marking the global celebration on Sunday, Dr. Agbaje acknowledged the critical role women play in sustaining families, strengthening communities, and driving national development.
He described women as the backbone of society whose dedication to progress, leadership, and service continues to inspire meaningful transformation.
The Rural Development Adviser commended women for their courage, hard work, and unwavering commitment to shaping a better future for society.
He noted that women in rural areas remain key drivers of grassroots development, contributing significantly to social and economic growth.
Dr. Agbaje further reiterated the commitment of the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu to policies and initiatives that empower women and promote inclusive development in rural communities across the state.
According to him, empowering women remains essential to achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life in underserved communities.
