GOV. SANWO-OLU DELIVERS NEW TRANSFORMER TO FINAYON CDA COMMUNITY IN AJARA AGBOVIPE, BADAGRY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Residents of Finayon Community Development Association (CDA) in Ajara Agbovipe, Badagry Local Government Area have received a major boost in electricity supply following the delivery of a brand-new transformer by the Lagos State Government as part of its ongoing rural electrification drive.

The transformer, delivered on March 14, 2026, forms part of the state’s Rural Electrification Initiative aimed at improving power supply in underserved communities across Lagos State.

The initiative is being implemented through the Office of Rural Development under the administration of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking during the delivery, Chairman of Finayon CDA, Mr. Wusu Peter, expressed deep appreciation to the governor for the intervention, noting that the community had endured electricity challenges for a considerable period.

According to him, the provision of the transformer would significantly improve living conditions and economic activities within the community.

“We are grateful to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for remembering our community. For some time, residents here have faced serious electricity challenges, and this transformer will greatly ease our difficulties,” he said.

Mr. Wusu also commended the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for facilitating the delivery and ensuring that the community was included among beneficiaries of the state’s rural electrification initiative.

The Baale of Ajara Agbovipe, Chief Hon. Thonda Peter, also applauded the state government for the development, describing the intervention as timely and impactful for the residents.

In his remarks, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje reaffirmed the commitment of the Sanwo-Olu administration to extending infrastructure development to rural communities across the state.

He explained that the initiative aligns with the government’s THEMES Plus Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive development and improved living standards for residents, particularly in underserved areas.

Dr. Agbaje noted that several communities across the state have already benefited from the ongoing rural electrification programme, adding that more communities would continue to receive similar interventions.

“The THEMES Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is focused on ensuring that rural communities are not left behind.”

“Many communities have already benefited from this electrification initiative, and more will continue to benefit as we expand the programme across Lagos State,” he stated.

The transformer delivery is expected to enhance electricity supply in the Finayon CDA area, thereby supporting small businesses, improving security, and boosting socio-economic activities within the Ajara Agbovipe community in Badagry.
