EPE, LEKKI COMMUNITIES APPLAUD GOV. SANWO-OLU OVER DISTRIBUTION OF TRANSFORMERS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Rural Development, has distributed brand-new transformers to three communities across the state as part of its ongoing rural electrification initiative aimed at improving electricity supply and strengthening grassroots development.

The beneficiary communities include Animashaun/Otun Community Development Association (CDA) in Epe, Maye/Eleshi CDA also in Epe, and Divine Homes CDA in the Lekki-Ajah axis of the state.

The distribution took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, as part of the state government’s continuous efforts to expand access to electricity in rural and semi-urban areas.

Beyond the distribution, the state government assured residents that the transformers will be fully installed by its technical team to ensure they become operational and beneficial to the communities.

The rural electrification initiative is powered by the administration of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, through the Office of Rural Development led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Agbaje reiterated the state government’s commitment to bridging the electricity gap in underserved communities across the state.

According to him, the rural electrification drive is part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s broader agenda to ensure that residents in grassroots communities enjoy the dividends of democracy through improved infrastructure and social amenities.

He noted that access to stable electricity plays a vital role in enhancing economic activities, supporting small businesses, improving security, and boosting the overall quality of life in local communities.

Dr. Agbaje further assured residents that the Office of Rural Development will continue to collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to identify areas in need of electrification support across the state.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Divine Homes CDA, Mr. Abiodun Adeoju, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for what he described as the consistent delivery of the dividends of democracy to grassroots communities.

Adeoju also praised Dr. Agbaje for his proactive efforts in ensuring that the transformer was delivered to their community.

He expressed optimism that the installation of the transformer would significantly improve electricity supply within the Divine Homes community and enhance socio-economic activities in the area.

Residents of the beneficiary communities are expected to begin enjoying improved power supply once the installation process is completed by the Lagos State Government.
