Dr. Agbaje, who led the assessment visit, disclosed that the Office of Rural Development is set to flag off comprehensive grading of the road in the coming days.
He emphasized that the intervention would significantly ease transportation challenges for residents and support local economic activities within the axis.
Accompanying the Special Adviser were Engr. Adebayo Adunusi and Engr. Kaseem Sule, both from the Technical Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development.
The team carried out a detailed evaluation of the road’s current condition, assessing the scope of work required to ensure durability and long-term impact.

Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Agbaje reiterated the state government’s resolve under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to prioritize rural development through strategic infrastructure projects.
He noted that the grading of Adebayo Akinade Street forms part of broader efforts to improve road networks across Ikorodu Division and other rural communities in Lagos State.
Engr. Adebayo Adunusi, from the Ministry, expressed optimism over the planned intervention, noting that the road has long required attention due to its deteriorating condition, especially during the rainy season.
The forthcoming grading project is expected to bring much-needed relief to commuters, residents, and business owners, further reinforcing the government’s grassroots development agenda.
