Residents of Olaitan Ojoafeje Community Development Association (CDA) in Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have lauded the Lagos State Government following the delivery and installation of a new transformer under its Rural Electrification Initiative.

The intervention is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to improve electricity supply in underserved communities and boost socio-economic development at the grassroots level.

The rural electrification initiative is spearheaded by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, through the Lagos State Government’s Office of Rural Development.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Prince Owolabi Adebayo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the impactful intervention. He noted that the transformer would significantly improve power supply, enhance daily living, and support businesses within the community.

Prince Adebayo further commended the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his dedication in ensuring the successful delivery of the transformer to the community.

In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje explained that the distribution of transformers forms a core part of the Lagos State Government’s Rural Electrification Initiative, aimed at addressing power challenges in underserved areas.

He disclosed that several communities have already benefited from the programme, while more are expected to receive similar support.

He added that the initiative aligns with the THEMES PLUS Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, which focuses on expanding infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents across the state.

The development is expected to bring relief to residents of Olaitan Ojoafeje CDA, while also stimulating economic activities and fostering growth within Apapa Iganmu LCDA.
