9wkwnem7E26516937998915661586 Former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru has joined the growing questions raised by the concerned youths of Ikorodu regarding the cabinet list presented to the Lagos State House of Assembly last week.
The list, presented by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu only indicated the name of the former Lagos commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Ruth Olusanya.
According to reports, The waterbed region anticipated seeing at least 3 shortlisted names on the roster but was dumbfounded when only one name emerged.
The aftermath of the shocking revelation has left leaders, stakeholders and residents in Ikorodu to resolve that the 3rd largest city in southwest Nigeria is been marginalised.
Otunba Abiru, who's also a former chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), reacted to the situation on Ikorodu News Network (INN) verified WhatsApp platform on Monday, 31st of July 2023.
In his statement, Otunba Abiru writes, "When a Government is successfully oppressing a community, some selfish members of d oppressed people are certainly in cahoots with that Government".

fb img 16754001774494774638964306793666 Ahead of the March 11 governorship election in Lagos State, Mr Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday declared that there is no opposition in the State.
He said those contesting against Governor Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in next month’s gubernatorial poll, are "comedians, jesters, and boys who just want people to notice them."
Speaking during TVC News Breakfast live programme on "2023 General Election, Focus on Lagos State Politics," Akosile said Governor Sanwo-Olu's image has gotten to a stage that international bodies are struggling to have him for talks, and therefore the Governor cannot "debate on the same podium with people who don't care about the lives of Lagosians."
Akosile who was a guest at the TVC News Breakfast programme anchored by Mike Okwoche and Veronica Dan-Ikpoyi on Thursday morning also took a swipe at a governorship candidate for unleashing terror on the citizens of Lagos State.
He said: "I don't see opposition in Lagos. Unfortunately, I just see some jesters. I see some comedians. I see some boys who just want people to notice them. "Somebody asked me in a WhatsApp group why the governor didn't go for a debate. I said 'which debate? To debate with who?'
"Apart from the fact that the state government decided against that (the debate) because some guys who jumped from APC to PDP feel that the best way to get into media reckoning is by unleashing terror on the citizens of Lagos State. That is not the kind of character that we want to sit down with. That is not the kind of person that we want to debate with.
"Governor Sanwo-Olu's image has gotten to a stage, where international bodies are struggling to have him for talks. So, why will he debate on the same podium with people who don't care about the lives of Lagosians?
"I saw a video where people carry guns in broad daylight. We say no. This is not the kind of politics that we want to play. So, there is no opposition. "I know there is another young man, who speaks very good English. He has a gift of oratory, but maybe that one can start from a local government. Give him a supervisor." Akosile, who rolled out some of the landmark achievements and iconic projects delivered by the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration based on the six pillars' THEMES development agenda for Greater Lagos, said Governor Sanwo-Olu deserved a second term having delivered his campaign promises to Lagos residents and with further assurance to do more if re-elected.
He said one of the rare qualities possessed by Governor Sanwo-Olu is his penchant for keeping promises. “He told us that his government would continue with projects he met on the ground and that’s exactly what he has done,” Akosile said.

The lawmaker disclosed this while delivering his keynote address at the 2023 Hackfest, organised by GenZtechies, held at the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka. Abiru shared the experience of his illustrious banking career spanning over three decades, tracing how technology gradually revolutionised the banking sector, starting with the new generation of banks.
Senator Abiru who is representing Lagos East Senatorial District, is the Co-founder of the SAIL Innovation Lab, the first-of-its-kind Innovation hub in the Senatorial District, where over 3,000 constituents, particularly young people, had been trained in less than two years of its existence. SAIL Innovation was the co-sponsor of the well-attended tech event that attracted over 1,000 young Nigerians.
According to Senator Abiru, he identified with the annual event because he believed in the vision of the promoters of providing a strong platform and ecosystem for young tech enthusiasts to thrive. He emphasised that young people should be encouraged and galvanised to explore the opportunities that the current 4th industrial revolution age has provided which is technology & innovation.
