Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, who presided over the 2022 Central Planning/ Working Committee of the 5th Annual National Conference and Awards ceremony, has communicated her appreciation to leaders, Executive Committee members and collaborators for the success of the event. The 3-Day event, which took niche at FCT, Abuja, drew all Vice-Chairmen of the Local Government Areas from across the country, leaders and defined guests. On post prosperous occasion, the National Chairman, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, announced, “With a heart full of joy, I wish to use this medium to recognise our leaders, the Chairmen of the Local Councils across Nigeria, our various State Governors, and President Muhammadu Buhari, for giving the conducive environment for us to contribute our quota towards the growth of the country”. “I’ll also specially thank my prominent colleagues, who heeded the 3-Day event from their various locations across the length and breadth of Nigeria. We can only profess a satisfactory packaged event in the next edition". She continued, "On behalf of the Central Planning /Working Committee, I thank everyone who participated in the accomplishment of the annual event.” “Emerging from this National Conference, we’re fully recharged, prepared and more resolute to give our best as good citizens, nurturing love and unity in our great country". Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba officially became the National Chairman of the Association Of Local Government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) on the 24th of June 2022. The swearing-in ceremony which took place at the NICON luxury hotels in Abuja was officiated by the outgoing National Chairman, Hon. Lawrence Onuchukwu. Hon. Lawrence before the swearing credited Folasahde as a capable leader and articulate manager, who's equal to the task as National chairman based on their feat as his Vice, adding that he desires the best for her as she assumes a new office with greater responsibilities. On the other hand, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Folashade in her acceptance speech, thanked the outgoing chairman for his administrative approach, asserting her passion to follow suit in discharging her duties. Folashade continued, "I am thankful and grateful of God's great grace at the opportunity to serve at a higher level as National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice Chairman of Nigeria and Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu LGA. "24th of June 2022 will constantly remind me of God’s ultimate love, tremendous compassion, unending blessings and unwavering favour upon my life". "For my wonderful quintessential Leaders, Fathers, Mothers, and Mentors who have entrusted me with so much recourse to serve my people. This trust I will never take for granted. My promise is to give the very least at all times at service to God and Humanity". "Despite all odds I am always obedient to serve, furthermore, I relish my honourable associates, friends and most importantly, the good and great people of Ikorodu and Nigeria". "For the will to embrace a life of service, possess a heart of compassion and to see a setback as an avenue for better things to come, I am indeed humbled". "I have also resolved; To continue to live a life of service, to not be so hard on myself (my heart is in the right place, and I always mean well), to give without expectations, to work conscientiously, selflessly and tirelessly, like no one is watching" Princess Folashade surmised Princess Folashade, who's the present Vice-chairman of Ikorodu local government, is also well recognised as the D.G of Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) and the National PRO, Women For South-West Agenda For Asiwaju (SWAGA).
