39k3m3mm5497958221394787629 In a special plenary session dated 29th of August 2023, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA Legislative Chamber came together to honour the best graduate indigenous students from Lagos State University (LASU).
The regional legislators took the round acknowledging the amazing academic attainments by presenting both bright scholars with special recognition awards.
Miss Sulaimon Halimah a Microbiology graduate, obtained a 4.68 CGPA, while Educational Management graduate, Miss Romoke Ogunlana got a 4.52 CGPA.
Both students, presently fulfilling their NYSC programs were applauded for their hard work and also cited as a source of inspiration for other students who attended the session depicting various schools across the LCDA wards.
Saluting the exceptional graduates for their great feats, the Speaker of the House in Igbogbo Baiyeku Legislative Chamber, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, delivered an inspiring message to the best students. He urged them to stay focused on their academic journey and to continue striving for excellence. Hon Alimi emphasized the importance of perseverance and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams with determination. His words of wisdom served as a motivating force, reminding the students of their potential to achieve great things.
On his path, Leader of the House, Hon. MKO Arowolo commended the parents for investing enormously in their children.
He asserted that the result attained by the students was only possible due to the assistance they got from their parents.
He further proposed an annual acknowledgement program to honour bright indigenous students within the LCDA. According to Hon. Arowolo, the annual recognition event would bestow more value on academic scholars in society, shading the widespread societal acceptance of nudity and immoral conduct.
"If the house accepts this proposition, It's a wonderful way to recognize and appreciate the achievements of our academic brains, propelling them to the spotlight" Arowolo added
Hon. Adetutu Banjoko, the only female legislator in the chamber, impel the students to strengthen their intellectual superiority. Presenting a special portrait to the best students, she stated that Halimah and Romoke's feats should be discerned as a rise of the girl child in a world dominated by the male gender.
She further admonished other female students across the LCDA to emulate the drive of the awardees, to raise the bar of their extraordinary performance.
Filled with excitement, the parents of Miss Sulaimon Halimah and Miss Romoke Ogunlana, who were among the guests present, praised the recognition session, set in motion by the legislative chamber.
They urged the local administration arm to continue in the same learned trajectory, asserting that more bright students would emerge from the region shortly that would also get the same distinction, if not more.

Wasiu Adesina was honoured with an Award of Excellence as one of the 24 best Local Government Chairman in Nigeria at the Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award (LOGEXA) 2023. The event recognises Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria for good governance in areas of utilizing the resources at their disposal for the growth and development of their councils. The Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award, LOGEXA 2023 award ceremony was held on Thursday 10th of August, at the National Merit Award Auditorium, Maitama, Abuja. According to the organiser of the LOGEXA 2023, Mr Olayoriju Ilesanmi; “Adesina sits tall in terms of delivering creative and willful administration to the people". "The award is a decoration of responsible governance and encouragement to recipients to do more because the reward of hard work is more work" he added
On his path, Ikorodu council boss, Adesina dedicated the award to the good people of Ikorodu, appreciating them for believing in him.
Furthermore, he thanked them for their unflinching support towards this administration.
He continued, "This indeed is a call for more work, as the reward for good work is more work.

r03on3m8458524470985108778 Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL/GTE) recently commemorated its second anniversary, highlighting the significant progress made towards fostering peace and unity in Ikorodu division since its inception. Aimed at creating a safe and harmonious environment for residents of Ikorodu division in Nigeria, IDPIL/GTE marked its second year of establishment at the palace of HRM, Oba Adeoriyomi Abdul-Akeem Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom.
During the anniversary celebration dated the 15th of August 2023, the Peace Initiative recognized and expressed gratitude to the various stakeholders who have played a vital role in supporting their mission. Ingrained in the welcome address by Otunba Ayodele Elesho, the outfit extolled individuals and organizations who contributed their time, resources, and expertise to promote peace and security in the region.
In addition, Otunba Elesho acknowledged the outstanding efforts of the security officials who have worked tirelessly to maintain law and order in Ikorodu. "Their dedication and commitment to ensuring the safety of the community have been instrumental in the success of the peace-building efforts" Otunba Elesho added.
The event served as a platform to reflect on the achievements of the past two years and to discuss plans for further sustainability of peace in Ikorodu division. According to Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru (Executive Secretary of IDPIL), the event also provided an opportunity for community members to come together and strengthen their resolve to promote harmony and understanding.
In summary, the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative's second-anniversary celebration portrayed a testament to the power of collaboration and the collective efforts of individuals and organizations working towards a common goal. In his address, Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, the Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL/GTE), highlighted the remarkable achievements of the organization and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and cooperation from the residents of the Ikorodu division in Nigeria.
According to Odofin Ogunsanya, his leadership (over the peace initiative) has made significant strides in fostering peace, unity, and security in the community. He continued, "Through various initiatives and programs, we have successfully brought together different stakeholders to work towards a common goal of creating a peaceful environment for all".
"We're grateful to the residents of the Ikorodu division for their support and active participation in the peace-building efforts". "We also acknowledged the positive impact that the collective efforts of the community have had in achieving the organisation's goals thus far".
However, Ogunsanya called for increased collaboration and cooperation from the residents, emphasizing that sustaining peace requires continuous engagement and commitment from everyone. He urged individuals and organizations to come forward with ideas, resources, and support to further strengthen the peace initiative.
Ogunsanya stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among the residents, highlighting that a united front is essential in addressing the challenges and promoting lasting peace in Ikorodu division.
"As we continue on the path to foster growth, development and peace, this initiative hopes to inspire other communities to prioritize peace and unity" Ogunsanya added.
Former minister of works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, chairman of the occasion, in his goodwill message, commended the overtime efforts and contribution of the Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative, Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, and called for continued collaboration and cooperation from residents in Ikorodu division.
He encouraged community members to embrace dialogue, understanding, and empathy as they work towards a harmonious future.
"What I can say about this initiative is that it serves as a reminder of the communal obligation to build a peaceful and prosperous community. "By working together, the residents of the Ikorodu division can create a brighter future for all" Senator Ogunlewe asserted.
The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to esteemed personalities across the division which started with the recognition of Royal fathers.
Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial district (and chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance & other financial institutions) was honoured as well with an award.
Other awardees according to the headliners include; High Chief Aliu Musediku (the Regent of Ijede) {for pillar of peace and security}, ACP Bode Fakeye (for special peace and security partners'), Chief Lanre Labinjo (IDPIL-LTJF Commandant) {for outstanding gallantry), Mr Salami Awolaru T.H, among other recipients.
Oriwu Club Ikorodu, The Exclusives Club, Heritage Bank, Zenith Bank, FCMB, Yinka Folawiyo Group, DSTV and GOTV got the corporate sponsorship awards.

908oop8947492419157041010 Olisado/Malalu community, Lucky Fibre in Ikorodu North LCDA held her annual AGM and elections of new executives to pilot the affairs of the community for another term (of 2 years) on Sunday 30th July 2023.
Dignitaries including some CDA chairmen past and present from erikorodo ward E2 witnessed the smooth shift in leadership.
At the event, members of the community were awarded for different categories including best supportive members, Selfless service awards, and Outstanding Recognition zone, where zone B came first.
Speaking at the event the outgoing chairman emphasised that the suspension of elections to offices of CNAs in Lagos state still stands.
But the community ex-executives have agreed by principle to peacefully hand over to New people to act as placeholders till the total lift of band on elections.
The financial statements were made public in the published brochure distributed to all participants and posted on the community platforms.
Mr Ayola, who represented the ward E2 united joint CDA's chairman, Hon. Babayemisi Kehinde praised the outgoing chairman for his excellent performance with his team, urging the new chairman, Engr Olusola Odufuwa to emulate comrade Winjobi during his tenure.
The community chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul-Rahim Abdulrahman Adebayo prayed for the newly elected executives, while pastor Onuh also blessed the new team and prayed for outgoing executives.
The climax of the event was the presentation of certificates of performance to outgoing executives and certificates of return to the new officers.
Fellows that attended the program were also recognised as units of Lagos state neighbourhood Safety Core (LNSC) secured the events.
High chief Waidi Animashaun who was "lots ebi" was ably represented by Mr Taofik (Austin).
Chief Waidi Odufuwa (double bale was the Royal father of the day and came with an entourage representing the family of Olisado/Malalu.
On his path, the new chairman promised to work with the outgoing executives and all the stakeholders to move the community forward.
He subsequently received a certificate of return from the pioneer chairman, Baba Mukaila Onaolapo Omotosho.
