998ujjjjjj1408888030515426151 The Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) presented a leadership and excellence award to the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina on the 28th of July 2023, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the development of education in the area.
The award was presented to Hon. Adesina by the Education Secretary, Alhaji Amusa Afolabi at the Teacher's House in Ikorodu, attended by members of the LGEA, education stakeholders, and other dignitaries.
Before the presentation, the LGEA Ikorodu commended Hon. Adesina for his commitment to the development of education in the area and his efforts to improve the standard of living of the people.
They noted that the council had made significant progress in the education sector under Hon. Adesina's leadership, with the construction and renovation of schools, and provision of instructional materials.
In his response, Hon. Adesina expressed gratitude to the LGEA for the recognition and pledged to continue to support the development of education in the area. He noted that education was crucial to the development of any society and promised to work with relevant stakeholders to improve the standard of education in the area.
Adesina continued, "We'll bring the LGEA to the council and give them a better space to organise this laudable and unique event come next year".
"The council is also going to provide two computer sets for the LGEA to enhance their technological approach to earning growth within the confines of the authority"

The event took place at the Lagos State University Of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Ikorodu (500 Seater Hall) as the Nigerian Institute Of Physics holds its 44th annual conference which runs from the 8th to the 12th of May 2023.
According to the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), Basorun Rotinwa was conferred the prestigious Award of Excellence of NIP, in recognition of his immense contribution to the Growth and Development of Science and Technology in Nigeria.
The council also cited Rotinwa's professional excellence in Community Development, referencing his service towards education growth at primary, secondary and tertiary levels in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State.
Prof H.O Aboh, President of the Nigerian Institute of Physics; Prof Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu; Olutayo Onanuga, LOC Chairman; and Prof Babatunde Rabiu, Director, United Nations African Regional Centre for space science and technology education (OAU) were all guests at the Award presentation program.
In his acceptance speech, Basorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, now the President of Exclusive Club Ikorodu, said the Award implies he will maintain motivating the younger generation to continuously pursue their greatness.
Rotinwa who studied Physics as a first degree said the faculty is an important tool in science and technology to bring solutions to most societal challenges.
He continued, "Now that we're faced with a shortage of power and some other challenges, individuals with this discipline are positioned to aid town planning as we all the Commerce and Industry sector".
"When a margin of accuracy (in physics) is applied in an administrative setting, a lot of solution is provided, which aid the process of targeting results even as a business person or government" he asserted.
Accepting the prestigious Award, Basorun Rotinwa was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Adeola Rotinwa and executive members of the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
