D’BARD CREATIVE MEDIA PARTNERS LASPOTECH DRAMA TROUPE IN STAGE PLAY TO FIGHT AGAINST DRUG ABUSE, CULTISM ®™√ INN Nigeria © D'Bard Creative Media, a creative hub in partnership with D'Theatrepreneurs of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Lagos State Polytechnic and the Mass Communication Department Students Association (Day Special) staged the adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in commemoration of the Valentine's Day celebration. The stage performance which was tagged "The Love Concert" featured musical performance, Comedy, and the Stage Performance of the Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Gracing the event is the renowned Nollywood actress, Sola Kosoko. Reacting to the performance, Kosoko commended the organiser of the event, D'Bard Creative Media, and the students for putting up such an amazing performance. Speaking on the objective of the program, the lead creative at D'Bard Creative Media, Waliu Adeyeri, said "the objectives of the project is to resuscitate the essence of genuine love in our society." The absence of love for oneself is the root cause of intake of illicit drugs that hurts the body, while the absence of love for another person is the root cause of killings and cultism. This performance is aimed at propagating the essence of love." "The Love was huge, the crowd was overwhelming, the turnout was massive!" These are the three simple expressions that best express the Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet yesterday, February 14, 2022, at the 700-seater hall, Laspotech. The group awarded the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the transformed Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Dr Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye as "Youth Motivator" for his support towards the success of the event. "Special Appreciation to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the transformed Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Dr Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye," the producer says. The troupe was also awarded by D'Bard Creative Media for successfully interpreting the piece. "Special appreciation to the Director Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Dr Biyi Oyetade, and the cast and crew of D'Theatrepreneurs under the auspices of the Artistic Director, Mr Ibrahim A. Nurudeen," said the producer. "I also appreciate the Mass Communication Department Students Association (Day Special) for coming through for the project.
