ISUWEEK’22: FREE HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORTS 231 ELDERS, 50 CHILDREN ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

394994j4j44jjjj7E2457454502891651949. Ikorodu General Hospital, Imota Annex that was brought alive on Monday, 14th of November, 2022 as Imota Student's Union hosted Day-3 program of ISUWEEK'22 tagged; Free Medical Check Up, Drugs/Health & Waste Management Enlightenment in the hospital's compound.
The program, considered one of the most anticipated in the annual line-up of the union activities of ISU WEEK witnessed the presence of twenty-six (26) medical personnel; doctors, pharmacists, laboratory officials, pharmacists, environmental officials, health educators and auxiliary nurses which catering to two hundred and thirty-one (231) elders, ages ranges from 16 - 80 years and children from 1 - 15years.
Mr. Saheed Yekini (PRO, Ikorodu general hospital, Imota annex), communicating the local dialect, Ijebu, and translating to Yoruba and English, encouraged participants to make use of the general hospital in the community, discouraging the improper waste disposal culture and also sensitise the people on the need to subscribe to ilere eko, an health insurance scheme of Lagos state government. According to Comrade Adenusi David Olamide, the Chairman, ISUWEEK'22 Organising Committee, "This program is organised to sensitise our people of the dangers of drug abuse, improper waste disposal and also to give them the opportunity of a free diagnosis, free consultations with doctors, free eye check up service and free drugs." Speaking further, he noted that, "most of the people in the community are low income earners, and while struggling to put three square meal on the table, they barely have left over resources to be spent on checkup and other medical services. Hence, the organisation of this program".
The Health Educator from Ikorodu General Hospital, advised the participants to often check their B.P and visit the general hospital equipped with qualified medical professional and updated facilities for checkup and not to wait till they are overwhelmed with health issues before visiting hospital. She also advised against drug abuse and discouraged the practices of going to the pharmaceutical shops without a doctor prescription.
Talking to partakers, the Environmental Health Official, charged all the participants to be conscious of their environment, because there can only be sound healthy, if the environment is clean. She advised the participants to sort their wastes; the biodegradable to a container and the none biodegradable to be sorted in another container; all should be in a container with covered lid placed at the front of the house.
One of the participants who identified himself as Oklaho, asserted, "this program is one program people always look out for in the community. It gives us the opportunity to see doctors, get health related advise and free drugs". Appreciating Imota Student's Union for the opportunity, he wished every members of the union well in all their endeavours".
The President of Imota Student's Union, Comrade Ogunbowale Olatayo Bodunrin acknowledged the Director of Ikorodu General Hospital for collaborating with the union. "I'm deeply indebted to the Director of Ikorodu General Hospital for partnering with the union". He continued, "They supplied us with drugs and personnel, boosting our coverage. Also, I want to recognise all the public and government hospital in Imota and Agbowa that released their personnel for the outreach. "We're indeed grateful for the presence of His Royal Highness, Oba Mufashir Bakare Agoro, the Ranodu of Imota and the Olufoworesete II".
"It is important to note that ISUWEEK'22 programs still continue, and while am so grateful for the kind gestures of our supporters, I also want to call for more support". "We really do have lot of programs and projects that target all age brackets, especially the students in Imota and its environs and we are currently running out of resources to execute the programs and projects".
"Hence, we call on all and sundry to come to our aid, so that together, we can build Imota community of our dreams" He concluded.

Addressing the issue of flooding on the road, a culvert has been created at Idera Junction, a spot identified as a significant aisle of flood reservoir.
According to reports, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has deemed it important to ensure the road is motorable for all and sundry.
Appreciating the cooperation and support of all residents and shop owners; for understanding, the council boss implored dwellers to be patient as the council works towards the completion of the road.

IGBOGBO DAY CELEBRATION DETAILS 34TH EDITION’S AGENDA, UNVEILS ANKARA ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

777y6bbb820265729995234247 The organising committee of Igbogbo Day Celebration officially intimated to members of the public, plans to execute its annual carnival spectacle.
Billed to kick-off this November, the committee presented their agendas in a press conference which took place at the pavilion hall in the palace of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom on the 12th of November 2022.
Propelled to stimulate unity and community development and cultural heritage, this year's edition themed Ogo Tuntun (in Yoruba) meaning 'New Glory' in English, is the 34th anniversary of the historic festival which was inaugurated in 1988.
Former Secretary to the Lagos state government and GAC member, Funmi Basorun made his presence felt, bestowing significant leverage on the interactive forum.
Mr Titilope Andu-Balogun, Chairman, of the planning committee, in his opening speech, expressed that the event is set to gaze at ongoing projects across the LCDA and appreciate subjects responsible for making such developmental undertakings a reality.
He continued, "This celebration will also be used as an open channel to recognise indigenes who are out of the country, but has plans to join our neighbourhood growth agendas".
He noted that the committee is not circumventing schemes to cater for students who are trying to further their education.
"Not forgetting the laudable assistance rendered by our outstanding Senator Tokunbo Abiru, a recipient of the 33rd edition, this year we're poised to recognise Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, for his support towards the development of Igbogbo land" Mr Balogun added.
According to the organisers, the celebration will also be wielded to mark the 6th coronation anniversary of HRM, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
Associating the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, the organiser further affirmed conducting the 2022 security summit/ JTF meeting, in partnership with the Chairman of the council.
Sulaiman Ayodele, another committee member asserted that, not only the youths will be involved in the celebration, but they'll also be orientated via the program to become better role models in the soil.
In the Q&A session, Elder statesman, Funmi Basorun took attendees down memory lane on the inception of the annual celebration, explaining the role of Igbogbo day celebration in community development.
"Ever since the start of this festival, we cannot begin to recount how it has been employed as a catalyst to foster development in this land".
"Renovation of the palace was once embarked on by this initiative, even the Pavilion we're seated in today is also part of the benefit of this celebration".
With questions raised on structuring a Town hall for the LCDA, which was the objective of its prior 33rd edition, Funmi Basorun explained that plans are still in place to actualise it, expanding that the King, leaders & stakeholders are working tight-lipped on it.
"While we're looking at unique ways this festivity is key to improve the community, we should also have it in our minds that the beautiful thing about this extravaganza is to bring both inhabitants and non-indigenes together" Basorun concluded
Mr Idris Adesina, Secretary of the planning committee, detailed the weekly program which includes; Prostrate Cancer Screening which is sponsored by Bldr Sesan Daini, Iwure/Jum'at & Public service day, Walkout with Adeboruwa/Igbogbo Day mega carnival & Elders Night with Adeboruwa, Induction into Igbogbo Hall Of Fame/Luncheon & Presentation of Awards of Excellence.
Induction into Igbogbo Ambassadors, Educational Quiz & Debate Competition, Cultural & Health Day, Security Summit to mark 2nd anniversary of JTF Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Youth Empowerment Day, Beauty Pageant/Gala Night.
Community Development Day for all CDAs, Grand Finale & Christian Thanksgiving service. The committee later confirmed to the public that the official Ankara to be used at the celebration is available to be purchased at 2,500 naira for 6 yards only at the palace.
It runs from the 12th to the 27th of November 2022.

ENGR. FEMI HASSAN’S GOLD CUP CRUISES THROUGH FIRST STAGE WITH COMPETITIVE SCORELINES ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

7373y3h3b7756568732579885326 As the first round of the maiden edition of Engr. Femi Hassan's Gold Cup heats up, the best of grassroots football is on full show at the Elepe community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
Just as intended, the tournament is developing talent from across the town, untapped abilities, attracting and thrilling soccer lovers every evening at Elepe senior grammar school field. Ikorodu News Network (INN) watched another first round cracker game between Adosag Fc and Active Exceptional Fc on the 19th of October 2022.
With the tournament sponsor, Engr. Femi Hassan, briefly in attendance to watch the game, fans from around the community were jacked up for 90 minutes with the display of skills by both teams.
The first half was goalless, with equal ball possession, as the referee micro-managed injuries sustained by players and kept the game at a high pace.
It was at the midpoint of the second half that goals started pouring in with Active Exceptional Fc topping the match with 2 goals for the victory, while Adosag Fc only sliced 1 in the latter part.
Engr. Hassan, expressing his excitement to Ikorodu News Network (INN) over the trajectory of the tournament, deemed the competition a wake-up call for all talents to exhibit themselves. Engr. Hassan proceeded, "You can never know the full potential of an individual until opportunity is presented before them. So far this competition is an eye opener for me personally".
"I came from work to watch the game and seeing the calibre of players this tournament is producing, nothing but the best!".
"With competition like this, there is going to be a reduction in crimes as you can see, some of these guys would have been doing nothing at home all day, which would have prompted them to engage in all manner of social vices".
Engr. Femi Hassan later affirmed his support measures as earlier stated by coach Adekunle Jagnor, organiser of the tournament.

HON. WASIU ADESINA FLAGS-OFF REHABILITATION OF ITUNDOMIGORAN DRAINAGE SYSTEM IN OBUN-ALE WARD C COMMUNITY OF IKORODU LG ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

3993j33n8966887578240612173 Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government graced Obun-Ale of ward C community on the 14th of October 2022.
The council boss who was chaperoned by his management and legislative arm, made his presence felt in the ancient town to embark on the rehabilitation of the Itundomigoran Drainage System.
Deeming the project to elapse for 4 months, Adesina stated that the drainage which was last constructed during the Jakande Era of Lagos state is home to the Olisa of Ikorodu Kingdom, who happens to be 2nd in traditional hierarchy to the Ayangburen of Ikorodu.
Citing the implementation of the undertaking as dividend of democracy, Hon. Adesina further added that the 17.8meters wide drainage system which seats adjacent to the iconic Ikorodu Methodist church is very unique in its posture".
He continued, "The drained will be coated, and the concealed section can be used as a walkway by dwellers residing or visiting the area".
"As we commence, let me seize this opportunity to acknowledge the support of the party faithfuls in Ward C, and their ceaseless acknowledgement of my administration" Adesina added.
The council boss further pledged more positive influences and Empowerment schemes for Widows to enhance the norm of living of the good people of Ikorodu Local Government.
