SHAKIRU ADELEYE WINS OBASA’S 50TH BIRTHDAY TABLE TENNIS COMPETITION ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

img 20221110 wa00137E23914618037989840592. The Vice Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association (LAHACA), Shakiru Adeleye, has won the table tennis tournament organised to honour the Speaker of the Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa at 50.
Ikorodu-based Adeleye, who works with Lagos State Television, defeated Mr Olaosebikan Ebenezer 2-0 in the tournament tagged: ‘The Golden Age Edition’. The final of the competition saw Adeleye beating his counterpart 11-8 and 11-7.
The journalist expressed his appreciation for the opportunity afforded him to showcase his talent. He said: “I use this medium to promise my station Lagos Television more wins in table tennis.”
The Speaker’s game was organised to commemorate the 50th birthday celebration of Obasa, which kicked off on Monday, October 24 and will reach its climax on Friday, November 11.
Finalists in other games also emerge winners and were duly announced and handed cash prizes.

Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Council of Chiefs, Council of Baales and delegates of the Nigeria Bar Association Ikorodu branch received Master Mattew KUTI, Champion World Table Tennis Under 11/13 to Ayangburen palace on the 4th of November 2022. Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) chairman, Rotimi Erogbogbo also cheered the tennis sensation at his office.

Matthew Kuti was the biggest winner at the 2022 WTT Youth Contender in Cairo, claiming two titles on the last day of the competition in brilliant fashion.

Although a debutant at the WTT Youth Contender, Kuti who had shown his quality at the 2022 Africa Youth Championships in Tunisia, pulled big upsets as he defeated the top seeds – Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Taher and Puerto Rico’s Steven Moreno in the U-11 and U-13 boys’ singles respective route to claiming the top prizes.

ADESINA DOLES OUT 500K CASH, IKORODU SNR. HIGH SCHOOL WINS DEBATE CONTESTS FOR PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN IKORODU LG ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

r949o4j4n4237192987829309610 The grand finale of the public secondary school's debate competition which was flagged off in September at Ikorodu Local Government Auditorium climaxed at the Teacher's cooperative event centre in LASUSTECH (formerly LASPOTECH) Ikorodu on the 13th of October 2022.
The preliminary session being the first that ever took place in Ikorodu Local Government was witnessed by personalities and intellectuals as selected Public Secondary Schools in Ikorodu Local Government took the "bulls by their horns" to flex their muscles, debating on different topics.
Consecutive performance was observed by the coordinators, moderators, education monitoring supervisors, teachers, parents, students and audience who followed the stages as the final came to a head with a battle sequence lasting 8 hours.
Preparing their minds in advance, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, explained to schools that in every competition there must be winners and losers but in all, losers are privileged to work towards winning next time. Adesina proceeded, "We haven't changed our promises to support academic development towards good careers neither have we relegated our words for gift items such as laptops and Cash donations".
"Non-participants should also know that tomorrow might be their turn, they should emulate their colleagues to look forward to that day they will be called upon to represent their schools".
The council boss extended his gratitude to teachers for taking their time and great efforts in teaching students what they need to know academic-wise. "My profound appreciation also to Alhaji Adeyinka Kazeem, Kaodwad Associates, coordinator of this competition, who saw the need to partner with Ikorodu Local Government Education Department, his foresight to develop our secondary student's communication skills through the debate to enlighten and broaden their knowledge is very laudable".
"Our administration will endeavour to make this debate a continuous assessment challenge among public secondary schools to compete among themselves in boosting their intellects" Hon. Adesina added.
At the peak of the competition, Ikorodu senior high school won the debate, Ayangburen senior high school came 2nd, Elepe senior grammar school came 3rd and Ipakodo community senior grammar school snatched 4th position.
Delegates from the council, iCare Foundation, Shine Shine cosmetics, including Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Ikorodu constituency 1 candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presented cash price of five hundred thousand naira to winners plus desktop monitors and Laptops computer systems.

IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERS KAODWAD & ASSOCIATES, ORGANISES DEBATE COMPETITION FOR PUBLIC SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN IKORODU DIVISION ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

388383j3jn2207889666410464981 Opportunities presented themselves yet again to public senior secondary schools across Ikorodu division to showcase their senses as Ikorodu local government partners Kaodwad & Associates.
With 16 schools assigned, sorted into 2 sets and stretched for 2 preliminaries, the spotlight gave route for the 2022 outstanding debate competition which kicked off on the 21st of September 2022.
Creating a niche for pupils to exhibit bravery, research, strength and brilliance, the contest is all, aimed at boosting students' performance levels in a public setting.
Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, addressed everyone in attendance before the start of the contest and explained the motive his government deemed fit to propel the educational bout.
According to the council boss, his administration is open to every channel to enhance the standard of education in the entire Ikorodu division.
He continued, "Aside from putting infrastructures in place, organising competitive programs like this, is another way to promote education and allow our students to show what they have learnt in school to the rest of the world".
"The council partnered with Kaodwad & associates after seeing what they have to offer, understanding the significance of education to any region, and so this debate contest has come to stay".
"To further add value to this contest, we're given 500k (five hundred thousand naira) to the first position, 300k (three hundred thousand naira) to the second position and 200k (two hundred thousand naira) to the third position respectively".
Adesina further added that Laptops and other educational items will be added as gifts to the cash prize winners as a way to encourage them in taking studies seriously.
Complimenting the chairman's speech, Mr Adeyinka Kazeem, CEO, Kaodwad & Associates later explained to Ikorodu News Network (INN) that his company came into the program to help the council successfully organise the debate.
Adding that the government cannot do it all alone, Mr Kazeem said if other private agencies can get involved in programs of such in synergy with the council, a lot of educational challenges will be resolved in society.
After the first preliminary debate stage, Oriwu senior model college, Elepe senior grammar school, Ayangburen senior high school and United senior secondary school qualified for the second round.
The second preliminary stage is set to take place at Oriwu senior model college on the 28th of September 2022.
