Executive chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has presented the year 2023 budget of 1,887,150,717.81 to her council’s legislative house.

Held at its administrative chamber on Wednesday, 28th December 2022, the budget is tagged ‘A Reserve Of Distinctive Impact’ to consolidate diverse developmental agendas in the territory of cool breeze and aquatic splendour.

Received by the council clerk, Mr Tahir Adewale Williams, the budget was presented to the leader of the council, Hon. Fadeyi Kehinde Abiodun, who presided over the proceedings.

Minutes and assertion of procedures were affirmed by Hon. Shitta Olorunlogbon Akeem, Majority leader, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Adeleke, Chief Whip and Hon. Kehinde Basirat Adejumoke, Deputy leader, was subsequently documented by Mrs Adejoke Thompson.

In her speech before the budget presentation, the council boss, Hon. Motunrayo Alogba regarded the year 2022 as remarkable in the history of Ijede LCDA, adding that her administration recorded significant progress in a push to positively affect the lives of people and the community.

According to her, despite its minor allocation and little internal revenue base, the council’s commitment to the people made her administration very prudent in managing financial resources, which made it viable to achieve effective results.

She continued, “The renovation of our Library and the Egbin Community Town hall, presentation of official vehicles to our political office holders, rehabilitation of Ijede to Oke-Eletu Road etc are all evidence of our resolve to bring good governance to our people”.

“Today, I am happy to say that our collective efforts yielded results as we recorded 80% budget performance in the year 2022” she noted.

Hon. Motunrayo further explained that the 2023 budget is tagged ‘Budget Of Distinctive Impact’, due to her administration’s eagerness not to relent in its efforts to consolidate Infrastructural Development, Education, Health and Youth Empowerment etc.

“We’re poised to build a legacy that will transcend our administration” she declared.

Appreciating her legislative council for the smooth working alliance that exists between the LCDA, the council boss urged everyone to project extra cordial relationships which create a better conducive working environment for all.

Post budget presentation, Hon. Motunrayo concluded by beseeching the house to finalize proceedings on making the reserve a working document.

The total budget size is 1,887,150,717.81, with an analysis of Personnel cost at 840,809,897.05, Overhead expenditure at 581,840,820.76 and total capital expenditure at 464,500,000.

Personnel cost is 44% to budget size, overhead is 31% and capital is 25%.

The presentation was graced by the Executive Vice-chairman, Hon. Femi Kareem, stakeholders, Management staff, APC party leaders, chiefs, and political figures in the region, including former Ijede LCDA chairman, Alhaji Fatiu Salisu.
