IKORODU NORTH CDC HOLDS AGM, ADVOCATES YOUTHFUL RESOURCEFULNESS, HONOURS STAKEHOLDERS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

As Ikorodu North communities keep developing and CDA’s being the 4th tier of government, contributing to the development of communities, with both young and experienced CDA leaders getting involved, Ikorodu north community development committee (CDC) held its annual general meeting on the 25th of January 2022

Organised at LASTMA yard in shagamu road, the AGM highlighted challenges faced by the CDAs induced by a deficit of funds, which has affected the discharge of functions in the area of security, capital projects and prompt payment of the CDC dues, local government dues and CDAC dues

According to Prince Adeniran Ogunbawon (Chairman, CDC Ikorodu North LCDA), “There is need for CDA leaders to cultivate the habit of writing to well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to give more support towards the infrastructural development of their community”

“Ikorodu North CDC has been taking an active part in the activities of the CDAC and Ikorodu division CDC which has increased tremendously since the easing of lockdown in 2021. Also, the CDC stepped up its visits to many communities and CDAs”

“Great vision cannot be provided without a great coalition. We are lucky in Ikorodu North CDC to have highly corroborating CDAs and committed members of the executives. This is the enigma of our climacteric attainments”

Prince Adeniran asserted that a major activity implemented by the committee was a  One-day leadership Training on wealth creation for community development organised for CDA’s Chairmen

The leadership training wielded in Odogunyan ward E1 was well facilitated with moderate attendance, plus ensuing training materials donated to the CDC thereafter

“We have to encourage and attract our youths and women in joining the community leaders as this is the only way to prepare them for responsible and selfless leadership in Nigeria”

“The CDAs must be transparent, accountable and practice delegation of duties in their affairs. The electoral process in the CDAs must be free, fair and credible. This is the only way the youths and women can be more attracted” Prince Adeniran expanded

With HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji (Eweye Of Isiu Kingdom) and Hon Babajimi Benson enlisted as Investiture CDC Grand Patron, Larger Than Life Awards was dispensed to Hon Adebisi Adeola Banjo (chairman, Ikorodu north LCDA) and Hon Matthew Aliu Adesanya

Peace Awards recipients includes; Asipa Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, Education Philanthropists Award; Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, Alhaji Azeez Amuzat ( Chairman, Lagos State Community Development {Advisory} Council), Community Service Awards; Mr Samuel Otiko, Engr Titus Towoju, Alfa Ojo Orisunmibare, Chief Michael Olukoya Alogba, Mrs Sofoluwe Mojisola, Mr Oladipo Kayode, Apostle Paul Okikijesu, Mr Saviour Okon Umoren, Ilado descendants family, Parafa Alagemo, Hon Babayemisi kehinde fakunmoju, Elder Ezekiel Oyeyemi, Mrs. Folashade Philips and Mr Ibrahim Kasumu

The CDC was inaugurated in 2005 under Hon. Kunle Ogunbela chairmanship with 9 registered CDA amassing Pastor Adebola Zacchaus Osibajo JP as the pioneer Chairman

Governed by the constitution of the Lagos State Community Development (Advisory) council, a law to provide for the signup of Community Development Association and other Connected Matters assented to by former Lagos Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in 2008

The high point of the event was the official unveiling of the CDC’s logo to the general populace
