With the general elections fast approaching, the ruling party and its followers took Ikorodu central by awe as multiple supportive factions assembled at the well-known space to further propel its aspirants.
Set in motion by the APC Local Organising Committee (LOC) in Ikorodu division, passionate groups; Amiko volunteers, south-south OGA Campaign Group, AMA campaign group, Onward movement of Nigeria, and Tokunbo Abiru campaign group got the space choked up, culminating loyal APC party faithfuls across the waterbed region.
It didn't take long before Apex leaders, symbolising fellows, Ikorodu division council bosses and influential personalities hit the stage, making their presence known and establishing the significance of the campaign.
Making the support for Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye the focal point, the crusade also took hold of the platform to canvass support for all other fresh and returning candidates under the APC party's wings.
Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and APC apex Leader in Ikorodu Division, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, father of Ikorodu constituency 1 candidate, joined his GAC colleague, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe on the podium, urging the massive crowd to give massive support to the party during the forthcoming elections.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, both leaders advised all to strengthen their voices via votes, ensuring the success of the party at all levels in the 2023 general elections.
Characterising APC candidates as capable, the leaders explained that Nigeria can only get better and pan out of its present struggling stage with the right set of administrators in place.
Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial district also took a brief moment to communicate with the masses on staying loyal to the party to benefit from its quality and developmental style of governance.
Abiru congratulated Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye for a successful LAHA Ikorodu constituency 1 flag-off campaign, adding that his victory is certain.
Ikorodu federal legislator, Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, on his path, exhorted party faithfuls to come out en mass to show support to all APC Candidates from Top To Bottom.
According to Rep. Jimi Benson, the massive show of support should not end at campaigns but extend to election days, for the transformational legacy of the APC party to continue.
"I encourage our people to be on standby with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC), voting all APC candidates is bringing our ambition to reality", JB said.
One of the high points of the event was the mounting of the podium by Lagos State House Of Assembly Majority Leader, and Representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, Hon. SOB Agunbiade.
Calling the day a blessed and glorious one, Agunbiade expressed his joy in belonging to the All Progressive Congress, adding that the party is in control of the Local, State and Federal Government.
Talking to the jam-packed crowd, Agunbiade said supporters must avoid making mistakes at the polling booth, asserting that all candidates of the All Progressive Congress should emerge victorious by a landslide come February 25th and March 11th.
Debunking all rumours following his loss to Gbolahan at the APC LAHA primary elections, Agunbiade demonstrated his genuine support for Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye by elevating Gbolahan's hand together with other leaders on stage.
Speaking on the presidential elections, Agunbiade explained that in politics, people can switch sides against each other at the eleventh hour, but the beauty about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership is being able to plan and scale through all stumbling blocks with success as his end game.
"We have won the election already, let's just go out with a positive spirit and clinch the victory" Agunbiade concluded.
In his words of gratitude, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye expressed his affection to leaders and party members for standing by him ever since he declared his intention for the APC LAHA Ikorodu constituency 1 seat.
Affirming that he'll ensure to live up to expectations as a quality representative by capitalising on the brilliant insights and success of his predecessors, Gbolahan prompted proponents to vote en mass for him and all other APC candidates.
"At each polling unit, a win for APC is a win for Ikorodu, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole".
"The leaders on board have laid a solid foundation for aspiring candidates to thrive on. And I must salute all our aspirants in progress, it's a triumph for us" Gbolahan added.
High Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, who led the Local Organising Committee members to the event, persuaded party faithfuls to stay on guard and sound the alarm as all road leads to the general elections.
He said that candidates of the party at all levels including; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, vying for the Presidency, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, seeking reelection as Governor of Lagos State, Senator Tokunbo Abiru (for Lagos East Senatorial district) and Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR (gunning for another term at the green chamber), possess political records of excellent performance.
Elucidating that voting for APC is a vote for a better Nigeria, Kaoli told the crowd that the Nation's future is in safe hands under the hierarchy and supervision of the ruling party.
Hon. Wasiu Adesina (Ikorodu LG Chairman), Bldr. Olusesan Daini (Chairman, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA), Prince Wasiu Agoro (Chairman, Imota LCDA), Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo (Ikorodu North LCDA Chairman), Hon. Sulaimon Olarewaju (Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA), and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba (Chairman, Ijede LCDA) were visibly seen on stage showing their support for Gbolahan.
Former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Member House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Saka Nurudeen Solaja, Candidate of the State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. 404k3k3mm3mm9171036075753296792 As the 2023 general elections pull nearer, members of the Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) came out en mass, rallying dwellers in Ikorodu LG to pick up their permanent voter's card.
Catching up with the pro-tinubu campaign group on the 17th of January 2023, Ikorodu News Network (INN) uncovered the faction's movement across the council's ward A to ward G in the Lagos waterbed region.
Led by its founder, Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the movement left no stone unturned in her 'Collect your PVC' campaign mobilisation scheme.
Communicating with Ikorodu News Network (INN), Folashade-Oba, who's the Executive Vice-Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, said that the campaign is organised to inform residents on realising that the PVC is their right and power as a citizen of Nigeria to beget better governance.
Folashade-Oba explained, "Today, we embarked on a PVC stop. Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) went around different neighbourhoods, compelling those who are yet to pick up their PVC to do so in earnest".
Telling on the group's convergence at the All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretariat in Ikorodu LGA, Folashade illume, "We used the same medium to pay homage to our hospitable APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun at our party's secretariat".
"We came here to let him know that he's doing a great job for our great APC party in Ikorodu".
"Also, we want him to grasp that together we're cruising to victory for all our APC candidates during the general elections".
"From our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Dr Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima, our Lagos State of Excellence Mr Talk and Do Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat".
"Stretching down to Ikorodu, Our number-one heartthrob, representing the Lagos East Senatorial district, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Ikorodu Golden Boy at the green chamber, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (OGA), APC candidate for Ikorodu constituency 1 at the Lagos State house of Assembly, and of course, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), APC candidate for Ikorodu Constituency 2 at the Lagos State house of Assembly, we're going all out for them to seek their triumph at the forthcoming elections".
Dr Folashade-Oba, National Chairman, of the Association of Local Government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC), declared that the electoral cycle is no longer business as usual, enlarging that the time is forthwith for every eligible voter to play their role.
"Sometimes we tend to overlook certain things, but this season is vital to our desire for national change" she illustrated.
On the people's reaction towards picking up their PVC, Folashade-Oba expressed enthusiasm in the procedure, asserting that some people experienced difficulty in picking up their voter's card due to delays.
".....because of the delays, we encouraged them by providing mobility to carry interested participates to and fro, enabling them to acquire their Permanent Voters Card".
"With that said, I'll take hold of this medium to express my profound gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as regards their extension of the date for people to get the PVC, it is my prayer that we all should maximise this sharp opportunity".
Complimenting Folashade-Oba's remarks, the Ikorodu APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun disclosed that APC Ikorodu LGA is putting the finishing touches to galvanising every support for the party's candidates.
According to Alhaji Waheed, "We're not only persuading the people to get the PVC, but we're also enlightening them about the significance of possessing it".
"The good thing is that, as we continue to crusade on this collection process, people are beginning to come in the quest of obtaining it" Alhaji Waheed noted.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) extended the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards until Sunday, January 29, 2023.

900766hjko94534485412717438348 It was entirely an exhibition of team strength for the Lagos State ruling party (APC), as the march path towards the 2023 general election simmers.
Somolu Local Government and Bariga district/suburb in Lagos State were hyped up on the 12th of January, as Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group takes its roadshow further.
The rally billed as 5th touchdown by the Pro-tinubu political crusade group, gained more composure across the inner axis of the region, establishing its usual cognition array.
Sharing souvenirs and simultaneously entertaining residents, business owners and various institutions with good music as usual, the roadshow triggered determination from a population clamouring for better governance post-2023 elections.
From the jump, the group paid a courtesy visit to the palace of HRM, Oba Habib Ola Ade Kassim (Bashua Oba Of Somolu), who received the faction with warmth, showering blessings on them for a serene road parade.
As the march advanced, re-election contesting Member of the House of Representatives for Somolu Federal Constituency, Bar. Ademorin Aliu Kuye, Somolu Constituency 1 candidate, Hon. Biodun Orekoya, and Honourable Samuel Olufemi Apata, Somolu Constituency 2 (Bariga) House of Assembly candidate, all under the All Progressive Congress umbrella, came out with their massive supporters, making the rally an extraordinary spectacle.
Though put together by the Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group, the parade purely reflected a collective synergy within the ruling party across the local government to sensitive the people towards the forthcoming elections.
Speaking to members of the press post-rally, Mr Fola Tinubu clarified that his main takeaway from the parade predicts the people's readiness and acceptance to vote for APC.
Re-emphasising the necessity for the roadshow, Mr Tinubu, DG and Vice-Chairman, Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group, said that no one should take for granted the demand to always go to the people, notifying them of the need to partake in the electoral system.
According to Fola Tinubu, Lagos is an APC State, which is demonstrated in the people's encouraging acknowledgments during the parade.
He continued, "If the people are not happy about the style of the APC statute, you won't see them getting so excited to see us as we moved around".
"Their motivation is based on the good governance they've enjoyed from the All Progressive Congress's candidates across the board and I reckon they taste for more".
Appraising the parade as triumphing, Mr Fola Tinubu affirmed that the group will continue to use the crusade to build the party's electoral momentum to spawn a landslide victory.
"Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the president Nigerians have been waiting for, and come February 25th, we shall elect a new president that will lead us to the Nigeria of our dreams," he said.
Sounding the alarm for Nigerians to vote in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria, Mr Fola Tinubu also called on Lagosians to get their PVC ready to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Mr Olajide Oduyoye, Head of Planning and logistics for the group complimented Mr Tinubu's remarks in elucidating the essence of the rally
According to him, "We've found it unique, utilising this movement to reach out to voters in their homes and workplaces because we know they might not be chanced to attend a non-mobile campaign".
"We'll continue to sound the alarm till February 25th and rally our base to prepare themselves with their PVC to vote come Election Day".
"There is no perfect leader in America, nor is there a perfect leader in Nigeria, but the closest thing we have as a perfect leader to direct this nation in the right path is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu" Mr Olajide noted.
Antonia Olabukola Adelakun, A staunch APC party member, advised women and youths not to relent in supporting the All Progressive Congress from the Presidency to the house of Assembly, expanding that the party will ensure to broaden its all-inclusive style of governance with the eventual emergence of Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria.
Hon. Sesan Olanrewaju, the First Chairman of Somolu Local Government and Coordinator of the Group in Somolu/Bariga was also in attendance.
A large number of loyalists representing the Lagos East Senatorial APC flag bearer, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru also joined the procession in their all-yellow costumes, adding more spice to the rally.
The group is slated to similarly take the roadshow to Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and Ogun states respectively to further propagate their message.

PAJ Movement ably headed by its convener, Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex brandishes its second end-of-year party on Tuesday 28th December 2022 at their secretariat, Ibaru Oloko Hotel located at Lucky Fibre axis of Ikorodu North LCDA. Lovers, well-wishers and faithfuls of the PAJ Movement across all the wards in Ikorodu Division were present to grace the event as well as other dignitaries.
Amongst the guests were the Woman Leader of Global Mandate Network who was represented by its secretary, Mrs Hassan Bukola. The occasion occurred simultaneously with the birthday of PAJ Movement's General Secretary, Mr Habeeb Adeyemi, who gleamed with radiant fashion, anchored by Mr Adewale Oluwasegun Adesanya. Another significant part of the program was the launch of PAJ Ladies, which is made up of PAJ Movement women, led by Woman Leader, Miss Modupe Makinde. Barrister Lukman Akinsanya, Founder of Pepc Foundation launched the PAJ Ladies vests and caps as the convener, Prince Adedoyin Jokotex followed suit. Honourable Eniola Adeyemi, popularly known as Wake-Up, a former House of Assembly aspirant for Ikorodu constituency 1 was also in attendance, communicating with the members of PAJ Movement. Adeyemi encouraged followers to oftentimes support the vision of Prince Adedoyin Jokotex to further elevate the politically oriented group, as the electioneering period draws closer.
The rest of the event was taken over by an atmosphere of merry-making and fun, dining along with melodious music from Quality Quadri and DJ Fresh.

484j4n5bnn3013208424694263995 A mammoth crowd of supporters converged on the Trade Fair Complex, Minna venue of the All Progressives Congress Presidential campaign rally in Niger State on Wednesday to receive the party's Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The electrifying crowd was too ecstatic to see Asiwaju Tinubu shortly after he was in Minna when he attended the Town Hall meeting with farmers and agro commodity traders. The shout of "Asiwaju, you don win, you don win, don't say anything" rent the air.
An obviously elated and overwhelmed Tinubu seeing the level of support and goodwill from the people, thanked them profusely for their love and readiness to vote for him. Tinubu who had come with a prepared speech had to abandon the speech to just express his gratitude to the people.
The rally was attended by Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Lawan and several governors of the party including Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Babagana Zulum (Borno), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) and Simon Bako Lalong (Plateau) who is also the Director-General of the campaign.
Also at the rally were former governors, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Abdulaziz Yari and the party's governorship candidate in Niger State, Muhammed Umar Bago.
Shortly after the rally, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party's National Chairman, joined the campaign entourage. Before heading back to Abuja, the APC presidential candidate paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouk Bahago, and inaugurated two campaign offices donated by Senator Sani Musa Mohammed and Alhaji Mohammed Idris. In the prepared speech that he couldn't read, Tinubu promised to ensure that Niger State and in deed all states in Nigeria will reap the benefits of the available resources they have.
Specifically for Niger State, he pledged routine dredging of River Niger and full development of Baro Port. The APC presidential flag bearer said Niger is blessed with resources which the state can benefit from for economic advancement.
“Your State has ample resources and large potential. Not only does Niger cover the largest land mass of any State in Nigeria, but it also serves as the home to three hydroelectric power plants that symbolically light the way forward to hope renewed.
“By God’s grace, I shall be elected. If so, my administration will further empower Niger State so that you reap the full benefits of its bounteous resources. We appreciate your vital role as the state that powers the nation. The nation will show its gratefulness by investing in your future. The power state will become the More Powerful State,” Tinubu said.
He underscored his economic plan which include building roads for easy movement of agricultural products and creating better opportunities for the farmers.
The speech says further, “Our economic plan will make strategic investments in industry and infrastructure, giving our talented people the chance to make a good living while producing valuable goods that will improve the quality of life for those who buy them. Federal roads such as the Minna – Bida road, Lambata – Bida road, Suleja – Minna road, Birnin Gwari – Jebba road, and Minna – Kotangora road will be improved such that they become better avenues of travel and commerce for well-being and prosperity of all of us. My Action Plan calls for a modern railway network such that you shall be able to move the things you make and produce to markets throughout Nigeria, West Africa and beyond.
“We must continue to plant and grow the seed of food security by pressing forward with the expansion of our agricultural sector. We will return farming to its glorious past by giving it an even better future. We shall ensure that farmers realize the full value of their produce. Commodity Exchange boards will set minimum prices for strategic agricultural produce, ensure our farmers do not toil in vain but earn a decent income for their toil.”
Tinubu also promised to address the problem of irrigation in the state, developing water management/ catchment systems and irrigation that tame the cycle of flood and drought.
Just like he promised in other northern states, the former Lagos State governor also promised to address the security challenges the state is faced with.

44ok4m4mm3m302597401774760105 Dwellers of Selewu community in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA were crammed with gratitude and commendation towards Princess Abiodun Islamiyat Oyefusi, as she kick-starts her free health scheme tagged 'Community Medics' across Lagos State.
The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023.
Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme.
From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues.
A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme.
Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State.
She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative.
"This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home".
"Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said
Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program.
He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father.
Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job".
"I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish".
"If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted
Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community.
Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs.
She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program.
"With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added.
In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school.
The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration.
Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils.
According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road).
She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children".
"With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well".
"I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted.
Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists.
He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly".
"Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track".
"It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said.
Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same.
He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home.
The project was supervised by Lion Kayode Aluko, Project Coordinator, Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club.
