The prestigious event was held at the Vinning Archbishop Memorial Church in Ikeja on Sunday the 28th of August 2023, filled with joy and admiration for Archbishop Enyindah's remarkable achievements and dedication to his faith. The association, comprising Rivers State natives residing in Lagos, organized the event to recognize and celebrate the elevation of Archbishop Blessing Enyindah to the esteemed position of Dean. According to the association, after presenting an Award and Portrait to honour the clergyman, they said Archbishop Enyindah has been a source of inspiration and guidance for countless individuals, known for his unwavering commitment to the Anglican Communion. During the ceremony, distinguished guests and members of the association (who came from different parts of Nigeria) expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Archbishop Enyindah for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the Church. They highlighted his tireless efforts in promoting unity, fostering spiritual growth, and uplifting communities across Rivers State and beyond. The Rivers State Indigene Association in Lagos took the opportunity to reaffirm their support for the Archbishop and his vision for the Church. They equally pledged to continue working together to advance the values and principles that the Archbishop holds dear. Furthermore, As the new Dean of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Archbishop Blessing Enyindah conveyed his poise to bring his wealth of experience and wisdom to guide the faithful on their spiritual journey. PMAN OPEN DOORS OF OPPORTUNITIES TO NIGERIAN PERFORMING ARTISTS, CALLS FOR SYNERGY TO BOOST ENTERTAINMENT SECTOR ®™√ INN Nigeria © e92ij3n37E28837950169131465372 Mr Pretty Okafor, President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association Of Nigeria (PMAN), has called on Artists across the nation to join forces with the redefined body to propel the entertainment sector. Mr Okafor disclosed the information at a meeting held at the association's National Headquarters in Lagos on Friday the 14th of July 2023, while receiving a group of musicians and a management company from Kogi State in Nigeria. According to Mr Okafor, the Nigeria entertainment industry is fast becoming the biggest in the world and PMAN is at the forefront of it. Explaining that every aspiring artist wants to come and learn about Afrobeats presently, he said that PMAN as a body is ready to build a synergy of support for young artists in areas of distribution of content, pension plans, legal issues concession, and digital assistance. He continued, "We plan to as well aid with international touring, and artists questing for work permits overseas". "PMAN is prepared to support striving musicians in Nigeria on tracts of affordable homes, and creation of directional platforms, which we have commenced in Abuja". "What most artists don't know is that they can't do a lot without PMAN, but I believe now, they will learn to comprehend us better". "We're the only association that the government listens to because we're governance inclined," he said. Furthermore, Mr Okafor stated that PMAN is on the verge to build a configuration in the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria, asserting that the body is poised to spread its tentacles across the board. Speaking on behalf of the group, Musician, Songwriter and Entrepreneur, Juwon Olugbemija Olorunipa, popularly known as Jumabee expressed his optimism about the reshaped musical body, clarifying that his prior impression of the early days of the association has been corrected. Affirming that the Nigerian music sector is going global, he corroborated the need for all artists to identify with PMAN, for them to access the performance entitlements they deserve. Jumabee explains, "With this present PMAN, we have a platform for all artists to plug in and excel both individually and collectively". "On registering to get involved, there is a lot of work to be done, we'll try to get all our artists to sign up, we will do rigorous outreach to set the ball rolling, and we will try our best to talk about the new PMAN at our respective jurisdictions". "In preaching the gospel about this new PMAN, my team will embark on an entertainment-oriented monthly conference, set to enlighten our people on how to get involved actively in the process, and give artists access to register at our expense". "We shall organise this program in Kogi, Benue and Jos axis of Nigeria because a lot of artists are ready to know and enlists themselves, but unfortunately, they are not well informed". "Let me assure this present leadership that we'll play our part to make this new PMAN a success" Jumabee asserted Commending the group for coming from Kogi state to visit the association's National Headquarters in Lagos, the body's 1st vice president, Mr Sunny Neji explained that the present executives have worked hard to lay a solid foundation for the body, adding that the collective efforts of the body are solely to aid other artists to scale higher. "The era of a cabal running PMAN is far behind us, and now all hands must be on deck to unify to give this association the strong identity it deserves". "Progressing forward, we're ready to bridge the gap for performing artists in Nigeria because the new PMAN is not for personal interests," Sunny Neji said. Also, the 2nd Vice President of the body, Zaaki Azzay, thanked the group for visiting the association, explaining that in recent times, it took the body over 9yrs reshape its identity. "Getting to this point is a struggle, with one aim to put the interest of Nigerian artists at heart". Babajimi Benson MHR, has stated his plans to further enhance Ikorodu Division Educational sector in the area of technology. Rep. Benson made the statement to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 22nd of September 2023, at his constituency office, the same day he empowered market men and women across the division with cash gifts. According to him, "It is vital now for us as leaders to inculcate technology into the learning and growth phase of our young ones". "Technology is now the order of the day, it keeps the mindset proactive, enabling youngsters to become self-employed at a very early stage" "In India today, it has been discovered that most of the youths did not pass out of the university, simply because they are technologically inclined, it has helped them to become employers of labor". "If we create such a tech-footing for our students here in Ikorodu, there is no telling what they can achieve, all we need to do is provide the medium, which I am prioritizing in addition to other development plans I have for my constituents". Rep. Benson recently provided an ICT training center for Anglican primary school in Isawo community of Ikorodu West LCDA. The center contains; 16 computer sets, a projector, and screen, an internet dish plus server, a Generator, and 8 Solar batteries with a 16-panel solar system to last 18 hours in training. In addition, Rep. Benson provided a Spiral binding machine, a photocopy machine, and 4 ventilator fans.

The project was commissioned on Friday the 22nd of September 2023 by Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and presided over by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Daini. Receiving a high level of commendation from the school administration, Princess Basirat, the councillor of ward C1 and Deputy leader of Igbogbo Baiyeku legislative chamber, appreciated the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for a timeless mentorship. She also acknowledged Ikorodu apex leader, Asipa Kaoli, and her council boss, Bldr. Sesan Daini for leading the pack effectively, providing her with a palatable room to function. Furthermore, she commended the Methodist primary school administration for cooperating with her towards the successful completion of the project. According to Princess Basirat, the sole aim of the project is to help students by providing them with a better learning environment. The program, themed; 'Maintaining A Clean Environment', she explained that the school is observing overpopulation, which causes inconveniences for pupils. "It was due to those inconveniences that spurred me to get to work on facilitating the extra classrooms as a form of service to humanity," she said. Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Princess Basirat illustrated that the school also lacked access to clean water which prompted her (as councillor of the ward) to provide the tank, stand and fetching point. Urging the school administration to apply maintenance culture in preserving the resources, Princess pleads with everyone to imbibe the heart of giving. The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeki LCDA, Bldr. Sesan Daini, in his address dubbed the day celebratory, equally applauding the project facilitator, Princess Basirat Banjoko. Emphasising performance, Bldr Daini expressed his satisfaction towards all councillors in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA working and making things better in their numerous wards. Bringing his attention to Methodist Primary School, he said, "Seeing this project is a challenge to me!". "As I've promised, Methodist Primary School building renovation with fully equipped furniture, and building of 8 toilets which will be commissioned in the next 50 days" Bldr Daini said. The council boss asserted the party's developmental mandate for communities will continue to reflect in his administration as voiced during his campaign. Before commissioning the project, Chief Kaoli Olusanya praised Princess Basirat Adetutu for prioritising education, explaining that education is the first way to escape poverty. He further encouraged the administrators of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA not to relent in fulfilling their mandate because it is a way of giving hope to the people. Mrs. Ogunfeyimi, HeadMistress of Methodist Primary School Igbogbo praised the council chairman, Bldr. Daini and all other leaders in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA for their consistent support towards education. Pointing out that Bldr. Daini's administration has not for once left the education sector, she encourages the leadership to keep propelling and investing in the life of the future generation around the communities. Noheem Adams, has told his colleagues that the doctor who performed surgery twice on the boy is not a qualified surgeon. This is as the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, during plenary on Thursday, directed the Clerk, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko, to write to the State police command for the arrest of Dr. Abayomi Baiyewu of Obitoks Hospital in the Alimosho area of Lagos. Adebola died on Tuesday shortly after the House called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to further assist him seek treatment abroad. While thanking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his effort at the period the boy was being treated at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Speaker Obasa directed that a letter conveying the condolence message of the House be sent to the family. Dr. Obasa further asked the committee to look into other grey areas including inviting officials of the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) which has the law-backed responsibility to monitor private hospitals operating in the State. The Speaker further asked the committee to review the extant law so as to know if it should be amended just as he said private hospitals can be made to always report their activities to the government at all times. Formally announcing Adebola's death, Hon. Adams said the boy's case was disheartening. He said when the committee visited him on Tuesday, he still spoke with the lawmakers. He, however, said during investigation, the committee learnt from Dr. Baiyewu that he is not a surgeon but only relied on his experience as a medical doctor. He also said Baiyewu, whose testimonies were recorded, told the committee that he did not carry out any medical examination on the boy before the first surgery which he did himself adding that he only relied on the report from a hospital the patient was first taken to. Noheem said after Baiyewu did the first surgery, the boy continued to complain about stomach pain and was taken back to Obitoks Hospital where Baiyewu carried out another round of surgery by himself. Following more complications, Hon. Noheem said the boy was taken to LASUTH where it was confirmed that part of his intestine was missing. The lawmaker said as a doctor, Baiyewu should have taken the excised part of the boy's body to a pathological department for test, but that "Dr. Baiyewu told the committee that the body parts were mistakenly discarded," and that the doctor had planned to do a third surgery before the boy was taken to LASUTH. After Noheem's submission, the House commiserated with the bereaved family with Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda calling for the sealing of the hospital. Another member of the committee, Hon. Lawal Aina, told his colleagues it was a pitiable sight when the committee visited Adebola at the hospital. He added that upon interrogation, it was discovered that Dr. Baiyewu proved not to have been a certified surgeon. Some of the lawmakers who spoke on the issue, suggested that a formal complaint be made against Dr. Baiyewu to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for action while others urged stricter monitoring of medical doctors and hospitals.
