victor achime7E28939389227865372741. The Nigerian Institute of Architects, Ikorodu Branch (NIALSCIKD) was created by Lagos State Chapter on May 10, 2019, during one of its annual programmes tagged, Lagos Architects Forum, (LAF 10.0). It was borne out of the desire to reach out to Architects who live and work in the localities within Lagos State not so close to the regular and constitutional place of meetings. Before the creation of the Branch, Architects in Ikorodu town and its environs have been demanding a Branch status as enshrined in it's constitution; Article 9, Section 1-3 (Branches of a State Chapter). "Branches may be formed in the State where there exist in a locality a minimum of ten (10) Architects, such Branches shall be part and parcel of the State Chapter". Having fulfilled the requirement, Ikorodu Branch applied to the National body through the State Chapter for the status, and the application was approved. It is the first of its kind in the history of the Institute in the country as Membership of the branch (of all categories of membership) is about 60 today. The pioneer Executives of the Branch are Chairman, Arc. Victor Uchenna Achime, Vice Chairman, Arc. Gbolahan Kukoyi, Secretary, Arc. Abiola Onibon-oje, Treasurer, Arc. THE PEOPLE B4 THE CAMPAIGN: HON JIMI BENSON SPEARHEADS LISTENING SESSION, ENGAGES CONSTITUENTS IN ORI-OKUTA (IKORODU WEST LCDA) & ERUWEN (IKORODU NORTH LCDA) ON LINGERING PLIGHTS, DELIVERS DECISIVE SOLUTIONS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

eieikej3kn3543866670109505859 While others are poised with facilitating campaign posters to advance their political agendas in the last quarter of 2022, not the same can be said about the strategic approach of Ikorodu's federal lawmaker.
Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, or JB as fondly dubbed, chaperoned by members of his iCare foundation, took to his constituents on the 23rd of October, initiating a community tour labelled a 'Listening Session' between him and his people.

Received by the Executive Vice-chairman, Hon. Adesegun Aluko, CDA/CDC excos and residents, it was an upright discourse as inhabitants were given platforms to mood their distress, soliciting the legislator on ways to improve their standard of living.
The collective response of most stakeholders primarily pointed at the poor state of the Ori-okuta road, which poses a major misfortune to the growth of the neighbourhood.
The road, according to dwellers connects Ojokoro-eyita and links to the newly constructed Sagamu road, which will be considered an enormous relief and improvement for the town if upgraded.
While others cited that their needs doesn't end with good road channels alone, they urged the Rep member to key into delivering more health centres and rehabilitation of schools due to increase in the population of the region.
"There are still spaces around the community that can be utilised to input more infrastructures, with growth comes value, enlargement and transformation" Mr Charles Ojiafor, a stakeholder asserted.
In all, residents and stakeholders in the borough gave Jimi Benson huge credit for his assistance in developing the community, notably instrumental in facilitating 18 schools across Ikorodu division.
In his response, Hon. Jimi Benson explained to residents that a need assessment on the road which is measured 1.8km has been carried out by his team with plans to stimulate remedy.

Major stakeholders and chairmen of the joint CDAs commend Bldr. Olusesan Daini based his efforts and the initiative to set up the stakeholder's meeting to proffer applicable solutions that will ensure the maintenance of the road.
Elder Adebisi Dairo, Mr Babatunde (Desleek), Prince Adesegun Oyefusi, Pop James Alabi, and Mr Akeem Adesanya spoke on behalf of the joint CDAs, the stakeholders lamented the worsened state of the road when it rains, stating that the gutters of the road are blocked because neighbours dispose of dirt in the gutters. They said the road requires new focus entirely from the government; and that the axis requires coordinated services of LAWMA.
They stressed the importance of government-based enforcement to ensure compliance from the neighbours in the axis. They said the people can be stiff-necked when they are told not to carry out an activity that can block the road's gutters and drainages as well as destroy the road; so the best way to make people comply and desist from activities that undermine the maintenance principles of the road is the involvement of enforcement from the LCDA.
They further explained that the maintenance committee was set up when the road was commissioned but lacked enforcement capacity which renders the activities of the committee non-effective.
They also re-echoed the urgent need for clearing of gutters of the road; he said the joint CDAs will evacuate dirt and sand from the gutter while the government pick-ups the dirt and sand with trucks. They said, the joint CDAs doubtless require services of the LCDA's environmental officers and/or ETFs to enforce patronages of LAWMA in the axis.
Mr Akeem Adesanya, the Council-Manager addressed the stakeholders, commending the ingenuity of the Executive Chairman, efforts of the Council officials and joint CDAs to make sure that the Babajimi Benson road's original standard is maintained and other environmental issues are resolved.
The Executive Chairman responded in his speech said that the video emanated from Hon. Babaji Benson was a wake-up to all of us to double our efforts and ensure that the road is not destroyed by the neighbours and road users.
He also said most of the stakeholders' requests had been repeatedly carried out along the road by the LCDA's environmental department and JTF.
He said, a series of understudy and investigations had been done on the road by Supervisor Councilors for Environment, Civic Engagements, and Tourism, even by humble myself (the Executive Chairman), then followed-up by enforcement to ensure that the road is maintained but more work still have to be done.
The Chairman also said the government will work in unison with the CDAs in the area of enforcement based on the government's standard of engagement.
The government will however not just deliver the JTF to the CDAs to avoid abused use of power.
He further said Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA will expose the original nature of the newly constructed road by evacuating dirt and sand from the gutter and then picked-up up the truck.
He added MD of LAWMA will be officially written for the official focus of their activities along the road.
He at the same time noted that the LCDA will as a matter of urgency fix the drainage problem along the Oreyo axis.
