IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB AID OLD FOLKS AT REHABILITATION CENTRE IN ISAWO, PRESENTS BRAND NEW UNIFORMS TO PEACE POSTER WINNERS AT MAYA COMMUNITY GRAMMAR SCHOOL ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

ii888888776045306228762394113 Seeking to provide special individuals with an enduring value substance, particularly at this time of the year when the yuletide is adjacent, a newly established club in Ikorodu took their deed of tenderness to another level on the 29th of November 2022.
It was considered an exhibition of affection and compassion that members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, extended their aid to the old people's home at the rehabilitation and training centre in Majidun-Owutu at Isawo road in Ikorodu west LCDA.
An act of kindness, targeted at individuals, especially, those vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation which often result in serious effects on their health.
The Club’s charter President, Lion David Akinosho, described the course as heartwarming, where the elderly are shown the ample love they deserve, cultivating an atmosphere that bespoke of love and care like they have not experienced for a very long time.
He said supporting those who have been abandoned by their relatives, makes them happy, and feel like they have not been abandoned before.
Lion Akinosho, further advised that the community should endeavour to care for the elderly as everyone will get to that point in their lives when they would also need someone to care for them.
The club was received by Mr Lukmon Dotun, who thanked the club for their kind gesture, coming in at a point where things are quite hard economic wise.
He stated, "It is not easy for people to come together in this period to provide for the needy, indeed it's a support worth appreciating".
"On behalf of the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, I sincerely thank the club for lending a helping hand to the old folks in this centre" Mr Lukmon added
Items donated to the old people home by the club include; 1 bag of rice, a Half bag of Garri, 5 Paints rubber beans, 4 Carton of Indomie, Toiletries, 2 Packs of Bathing soap and Rolls of Detergents.
From the rehabilitation centre, they progressed to Maya community junior grammar school to put smiles on the faces of two students who won the creative Lions peace poster competition organised by the club prior.
Brand-new uniforms were presented to both students; to the delight of the school administrators presents, received members of the club and urged them to continue in their statute of humanity to promote education.
Master Roland Olubayo and Hassan Mustaheen were also presented with a certificate award of excellence for their participation and outstanding performance in the intellectual contest.
Both items were presented to the pupils by the club's charter president, Lion David Akinosho JP, NLCF and the club's project chairperson, Lion Oluwakoyode Aluko NLCF.
The projects executed by the club stretch between Ikorodu west and Ikorodu north LCDAs.

GIVING FOR LIVING FOUNDATION COLLABORATE DIVINE HERITAGE CHILDREN’S CENTRE, MARKS ORPHAN DAY WITH PROVISION OF RELIEF ITEMS FOR LESS PRIVILEGED KIDS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

4894j4j4n5087280010925019301 Commemorating Orphan day, to put smiles on the countenances of children, primarily the less privileged, Giving Living Foundation, Christian Alliance For Orphans (CAFO) and Divine Heritage Children's Centre united to heighten empathy. A specially packaged family and community-based care outreach for orphan and vulnerable households, the program addresses persons with broken dreams, broken relationships, failed plans, misery trauma, tragedy or bitter consequence amongst other forms of obstacles.
Featuring games, motivational messages, cutting of the cake, prayer sessions and provision of relief items etc, the undertaking weighed the act of charity, tenderness and benevolence at its peak.
The psychosocial and counselling session dated the 26th of November 2022, provided a seasoned Psychologist, Dr Oni Temitope to elucidate the theme; Better Together: Exchanging Your Brokenness For Wholeness.
With parents also present as guests at the Divine Heritage Children's Centre (where the gathering was activated), the event significantly ushered in the yuletide season into the mindset of attendees.
According to Mrs Ebun Idowu, Founder, of Divine Heritage Children's Centre, "Yearly, we look at reaching the vulnerable and orphans in the community, it is a tradition for us every November to show love and care".
"This is the second outing we're having this month, we came back to base after facilitating a similar course like this in offin at Oreta road in Igbogbo".
She continued, "There we brought children together and reached out to them with food drinks and clothes items, providing relief materials to them, and praying for them, the idea is basically to show love, letting the kids know that they're not forgotten, because God cares for them".
"Also, we did something different this year by inviting a psychologist to join the program and engage the children on the importance of not giving up, no matter the background, upbringing and life trajectory".
"The main focus of the teaching is to enlighten them on not losing hope regardless of their prevailing circumstances and abandoned internal crises". "We made them understand that their future is great and God will see them through all situations (using our numerous life experiences as a case study)".
She further explained that despite the situation in the country, their advocacy is to keep the children concentrated on accomplishing their dreams. Explaining that the foundation cannot achieve the course all alone, Mrs Ebun told Ikorodu News Network (INN) that they are open to influential Nigerians, competent to join the course of putting smiles on the faces of children to get on board. "We're calling on all men and women of great substance to come out and be a voice to the voiceless in the community through our foundation". "Let us come and share joy and happiness this season, let us stand by them to be encouraged, and letting them know that they are not alone means we have to work together". "The environment is vast and only one organisation cannot do it, that's why we're trusting God to get more capable supportive individuals to join us, so we can reach out to more children in need" Mrs Ebun asserted. Emphasising her role in the session, Dr Oni Temitope, a counselling psychologist who runs a sound mind therapeutic clinic, told INN that she operates a program on Radio designed to educate teens and youths.
According to her, the session is motivational to uplift the children from living hopelessly. She explained, "Due to some issues the children have had in time past, they're overwhelmed with the mindset that they can not make it in life. But my job is to make them feel like things can only get better after trials and tribulations as long as they don't give up". "I engaged them in the power of positivity, never relenting in forging ahead. No matter what crises brought them to the orphanage home, if their emotion can stay on the optimistic side, then definitely they'll become great".
She expanded that her discourse is meant to give the kids and even their parents the reassurance that only good things can happen if they don't give up on themselves. On the latter, Evangelist Helen Anyadike connected the children via the theme of Bible, before praying for everyone in attendance.
The program culminated with the cutting of the cake by orphans and the presentation of relief items to the children.

FREE DIABETES CHECK-UP: IKORODU METRO LIONS CLUB AID 300 INDIVIDUALS AT OKE-ELETU & IJEDE PHC ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Responding to a finalized free diabetes program organised by the club at both Oke-eletu health centre and Ijede council's PHC, which catered to approximately 300 patients.
According to Lion Tunji, the club first took the program to Oke-eletu health centre, and after successfully aiding more than 150 individuals, they were compelled to put up with the free program by the council's secretariat PHC to allow additional dwellers to benefit from the laudable course.
Lion Tunji proceeded, "We came to Ijede local council's health centre due to request we received from Oke-eletu to extend our goodwill measures".
"From my numerous experience in serving the club, it is obvious that diabetes can only be prevented by early check and adequate treatment from a doctor's recommendation".
"Most times, people do not realise they have diabetes until they fall ill and fall prey to its complicated, it is to that effect we promptly asked people to do frequent tests to ascertain their sugar level".
"It is traditional for our club to carry out this free diabetes program annually every November" Lion Tunji concluded.
The club earned commendations from medical experts on the ground in both health centres.

4848u44j7E28880312610224568283. Questing to attain milestone feats in the International Lions Club District 404A1 Nigeria, Lion Babatunde Akadri Adeleke, recognised mostly as 'Sayleke', officially evolved President of Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club on the 20th of November 2022.
Sayleke, a well-known public figure in Ikorodu division was conferred with the new leadership status by Lion Roseline Ogunlana, the immediate past president of the club who served between the years 2021-2022.
With notable figures like Lion Engr. HOB Lawal, Past International Director, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, DG iCare Foundation, Comrade Billiamin Lekan-Oba, National Youth Council Of Nigeria (Lagos State chairman), Lion Adefunke Oluranti Esan, Zone 5A chairperson 2022-2023, Lion Akinosho David, President Ikorodu Peculiar Lions club amongst other distinguished guests, the event exhibited class, fashion and elegance.
Family members, friends and well-wishers of the new president were also at the special investiture ceremony which took place at the Lions Activity Centre (OLAC) along Owode-Ibeshe road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
Installation of club officers, induction of new members and leadership modification was administered by Lion Shakirudeen Adeniyi Balogun, 2nd Vice District Governor.
A tenure set to run from the year 2022-2023, the new president in enthusiasm, cited that Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club is unhurriedly and gracefully striding ahead.
In his inaugural speech, Lion Sayleke remarked that a Leader must have virtue and strength which goes beyond being brave or strong alone, adding that courage requires grace to continue with confidence even when it appears unthinkable.
Thanking his predecessors and able Club members for the honour assigned to him to sit among other Club presidents within the Zone, Region and District, Lion Sayleke asserted that his new leadership role will permit him to contribute his quota to the affairs of Lions Club in general.
Urging the club to continue in its humanitarian services, He noted that being elected does not mean he's more educated but implies a trusted representative capacity. He continued, "The club must continue to work together for the fulfilment of the goal of the organisation. Serving the people has propelled us to pursue financial aid to further establish endurable agenda for the Club".

Before the Club's Award presentation, Lion Babatunde Sayleke introduced a Legacy project called 'Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club House' to members and guests in attendance.
