The event which also doubled as an empowerment procedure to assist mothers took place at the Surulere local government secretariat. Administrative female leaders of the pro-APC group filed out in their numbers to execute the generous and educative program, hosted by the executive chairman of Surulere local government, Hon. Sulaiman Bamidele Yusuf. The chairman, in his remarks, thanked the women's group for promoting the laudable program which adds value to the lives of women in Lagos State as the nation prepares for the election. He also explained that young fellows need to be educated about the leadership qualities of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As stated by Hon. Bamidele, "There are a lot of millennials who were not yet born during the governorship tenure and administrative era of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu". "They are unaware that he once ran the affairs of Lagos State, they have insufficient or no knowledge of his dispositions and accomplishments". "That's why we need to create platforms that will educate them candidly about Asiwaju" He explained. Outlining the program course, anchored by the faction's head of publicity, Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, seized the medium to appreciate the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabimilla, who's also representing Surulere constituency 1, for his leadership gaits and obligation to nation-building. According to Folashade-Oba, the National Chairman of the Association of local government Vice-Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) and vice-chairman of Ikorodu local government, the program is themed 'Voters Training', with a No PVC No Entry policy. She continued, "It is just not training alone, we also packaged palliative for the women to make them understand that we truly care for them in this struggling time of our nation". "One of the integrity of good governance is empowerment, so we're standing in the gap to reach out to women in the neighbourhood amidst the naira scarcity" Folashade-Oba asserted Hon. Ayo Omidiran, SWAGA National Women Leader, extolled the strength of motherhood felt among the women present, urging them to continue in their show of support for the All Progressive Congress (APC). "The training part of this program is to ensure there is no wastage of votes as we count down to the elections". "We have a lot of women here today, coming to represent their numerous populations. After the training, we're sure they'll take the wealth of knowledge ascertained back to their communities" Hon. Omidiran asserted. Also speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) Mr Oyetunde Ojo, SWAGA Chairman in Lagos State, clarified that the program is launched to orientate women on the forthcoming elections, while also using the medium to appreciate them for their passion and commitment towards the growth of the entire Nigeria political spectrum. He noted, "Without any doubt, this is about having at the back of their minds that on the 25th of February and 11th of March, they should all come out and vote for the ruling party (APC)". "A vote for Asiwaju is a vote for a renewed Nigeria, and a vote for Governor Sanwo-Olu is a vote for a Lagos Rising". "It is about settling every APC flag-bearing candidate at the rear of their psyches, getting on into the elections" Hon. Oyetunde cited. At the high point of the program, over one thousand women were presented with bags of welfare packages and enveloped cash prizes.

The sixth stop of the Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 support group's roadshow, took the faction to Ikorodu division, known as Nigeria's 12th largest city. Channelling his remarks of appreciation to the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Fola Tinubu urged the king to ensure that youths with PVC do not play football on election day, rather they should put their cards to use. "Kabiesi, this time around, we must make sure that our people play an active part in the electoral process to vehemently support all our hardworking candidates". "It is our sixth stop so far in the roadshow which started in the 3rd quarter of 2022, and we've has alighted Ondo, Ekiti, Osun and Ogun states, we look forward to reaching other regions before the elections" Fola Tinubu asserted HRM, Oba Adeoriyomi Oluwasesan Abudul-Akeem, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, in his statements, explained that all the kings across the division held a meeting with Governor Sanwo-Olu at the state house, and they resolved to make sure that out of the 7.1 million registered voters, they're aiming to gain over 5 million. According to HRM, "On a personal note, I've been an enthusiastic follower of Bola Tinubu since 2002". Kabiesi continued, "As far as my kingdom and household are concerned, it is APC all the way". "I've also reached out to all the wards with the support that should aid their voting process" He added. The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom has been on the throne for 13 years. Receiving the group, the king was also chaperoned by his Olori and chiefs. It was gathered that the denomination was also received by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, who has always hurled his support behind the presidential ambition of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

MASSIVE TURNOUT AS SOUTHWEST YOUTHS RALLY IN LAGOS TO ENDORSE TINUBU, APC NATIONAL LEADER UNFOLDS AGENDA TO RESTORE HOPE, BUILD NEW NATION WITH YOUNG PEOPLE ®™√ INN Nigeria © fb img 1650168694441529934971911665174 A movement of youths across the Southwest region, on Saturday, took a powerful stand ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries slated for next month. The young people, in their thousands, converged on Lagos State to endorse the presidential aspiration of the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena in Onikan was filled to the brim, as a mammoth crowd of youths under the aegis of Progressive Youth of Southwest declared and pledged their support for Tinubu, whom they described as a “contender with a clear vision and high capacity”. Tinubu’s vision for growth and development, the youths said, has been experimented with within Lagos, taking a city in distress in 1999 to envious heights of economic prosperity. The political rally was organised at the instance of all the youth leaders of the party across the region. The rally was joined by various other youth groups, including young House of Assembly members across the Southwest states, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) chairmen in the Southwest, Joint Campus Committees (JCCs) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Union of Lagos State Students (NULAS) and youth arms of various ethnic nationalities in the Southwest and indigenous communities. Also, hip-hop artists and Fuji musicians were at the rally to show solidarity for Tinubu, entertaining the crowd with various endorsement songs. Comic youth preacher, Oluwatoyin Bayegun, popularly known as Woli Arole, and his colleague actor, Asiri (Damilare Osundare), compered the event. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave a hint on what the youths should expect when Tinubu is elected president, noting that the APC leader had been a passionate supporter of youths. Aside from giving opportunities to youths to flourish in their areas of activity, the Governor said young people would be part of the major drivers of the Tinubu presidency. Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other cabinet members, gave a thumbs up to the conveners for what he called “an overwhelming support” shown at the rally. The massive crowd, the Governor said, was an indication of the firm belief in the competence and capability of Tinubu to lead in the next political dispensation. The Governor said: “I thank our teeming youths across the Southwest for coming to declare this overwhelming support and endorsement for your great leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to become the next president. Asiwaju is the only person who will ensure the youth stand as stakeholders in the next Government. “The endorsement you give to our leader is one step towards the realisation of the Tinubu 2023 project. The most important step is to turn out bigger at the delegate election and complement your support with votes for Asiwaju to win the party’s nomination as presidential flag bearer. Come next year, by the grace of Almighty, we will all be going together for Asiwaju’s inauguration in Abuja as elected president.” Tinubu described the support rally as “massive”, saying he would show gratitude for the endorsement by working hard to positively change the story of the country for young people. The APC National Leader said young people could no longer continue the lamentation of the past but must brace themselves to work for a new nation that would have limitless opportunities and possibilities. The youths, Tinubu said, must eschew politics of bitterness and disunity, urging them to lend themselves to projects initiated to change the story of the nation for good. Tinubu said: “I am here, not for myself, but for you and our collective future which our youths represent. We feel your anger whenever you are angry; I will never blame you for that. The promises of the past have not done enough to help you build a future from the onset. But, I disagree with the excuses that we cannot help it; we can help it. All you need is courage, determination and perseverance. You must develop a can-do attitude; you must have the grit and determination to change the story of poverty and banditry. “We cannot continue the lamentation of the past. We have to brace up for a new Nigeria. You have to be ready for the task ahead. If you have no voter card, go and get it. If you have it, go for a revalidation of your card. You cannot be part of 1.4 billion youths using Instagram and have no PVC to vote. The youths are the reason why I am here to contest. I want to be president for you all; commit yourselves to this project and drive me there. “All we have to do is to build a united Nigeria. When we started in Lagos, we used to pick up dead bodies on the streets. Today, Lagos is one of the most progressive States. We can build a new Nigeria, where prosperity will not be isolated and limited to the family of the poor. A united Nigeria is our dream, a free Nigeria is our commitment and a violence-free Nigeria is what we promise we will hand over to you.” APC National Youth leader, Dayo Israel, said the youths had the choice to make in deciding who becomes the next president but said their choice must be given to a leader who had been tested and could be trusted for progressive leadership. Lagos APC Youth Leader, Dr Murtala Seriki, said Tinubu had impacted various homes, with the brand of programmes he initiated while he governed Lagos. Seriki urged the youths to sustain their support for the presidential hopeful, noting that young people would not regret their decision to queue behind Tinubu in the next general elections. Leo Obasi, Ndi Igbo Youth Leader in Lagos, described Asiwaju as “a unifying factor, detribalised politician”. “Such leader must be given the chance to lead the nation and foster unity,” Obasi said.

The notice which was published on social media indicated that the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Lagos Wednesday, 8th February 2023 approved a 50% slash in bus fares following the cash crunch brought about by the recent currency swap. It continued, "Following the Supreme Court and Federal Government's pronouncements on the use of old notes alongside the new notes and the return of stability to the system, the 50% rebate is hereby discontinued". "Consequently, bus fares return to a pre-50% slash rate effective Saturday, 1st April 2023" the statement ends.

The Governor who spoke through his Social Media handles said he was going to honour the March 14 judgment of the Lagos division of the high court ordering the state government to pay ₦ 5 million as compensation to Clement. The Governor wrote, “Good evening Lagos, as Governor, I'm committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens' rights with empathy and authority. "I recently became aware of the case involving Mr Clement Adedotun and the judgement by the Federal High Court, and I understand the impact this legal battle has had on him." "After reviewing Mr Clement's case, I've directed the Honorable Attorney General to set up a meeting and pay him the compensation awarded by the Court." “Although the State Government has appealed the ruling, I’ve interceded in this instance in the interest of the public good, and requested that the State’s Attorney General comply with the court’s ruling." “As a strong advocate for the rule of law, I commend all parties for seeking justice through the appropriate channels, and I remain committed to upholding the rights of all Lagosians".

The Ministry of Transportation made this known at weekend while parading four suspected hoodlums by the name; Tunji Oyedeji, Allison Ozin, Taiwo Olubodun and Awotunde Ahmed, while carrying out their illegal activities in Amuwo-Odofin area of the State. Recall that the Transport Operations and Compliance Unit of the Ministry in February apprehended a group of miscreants in Igando axis, while extorting a tipper driver on his way to offload sand. Condemning their actions, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde stated that the continuous arrest of these miscreants demonstrates the State Government’s resolve to ensure an enabling environment devoid of miscreants’ activities, saying, the Ministry will intensify its sting operations across the State to tame these urchins whose actions hinder economic development. The Transport Commissioner noted that the suspects arrested have been handed over to the Lagos State TASKFORCE for investigation and prosecution, warning others to desist from these illegal activities or be made to face the full wrath of the law in line with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018.
