2023 ELECTIONS: ASIWAJU KNOWS IKORODU, OTHER CANDIDATES DON’T! – ASIPA KAOLI, REP. JIMI BENSON, OTHERS ENGAGE IKORODU DIVISION YOUTHS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 202k2km2mmm2185508539965399454 In a bid to distinguish between reality and fiction in assessing the electioneering process, youth leaders in Ikorodu division held an awareness program on the 22nd of February 2023. Tagged 'delivering your polling units strategically', the educative fora drew coordinators from the National youth council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ikorodu division branch, National Association of Ikorodu division students (NAIDS), Students Union leaders and other factions to the Ita-Elewa youth activity centre. An enthralling panel, the forum allowed youths to engage leaders such as high Chief Asipa Kaoli, Rep. Jimi Benson MHR, Bldr Olusesan Daini, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA chairman, and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Ijede LCDA council Boss, on ways youths can fully get involved in the canvassing and voting process. The program also captioned the official declaration of youths in Ikorodu division in support of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party for the forthcoming elections. Hitting the nail on the head, Chief Asipa kaoli in his statements, instructed youths present to change the course of their future by coming all out to vote APC. He said without missing words, that the current youths know how favourable the ruling party is bending towards their direction, thus, he instructed, "Pair yourselves on Saturday (Election Day) and come out not only to vote but also let others around you vote for your party (APC)". Also building their minds ahead, Asipa Kaoli advised the youths to ready themselves for leadership roles, exhorting them to study more for valid uplifts, and not aiming to attract favour they did not work for. Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, Ikorodu federal lawmaker, who also attended the program, in his discourse, explained that as youths, representatives and leaders, the ruling party has a unifying factor, which is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to Rep. Benson, Bola Tinubu is one way or the other connected to those making things happen around the waterbed region, which in itself gives the division proactive leverage at the helm of affairs. He continued, "As youths, we're all hardworking and doing well, all we need now is a leader to integrate our expertise and make our dreams come alive, and that leader is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu". "Asiwaju knows Ikorodu, other candidates don't"! "A vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a 'yes' to all our APC working leaders in the division, which will make it easy for him to bring a lot of solutions to challenges we face". Explaining further, Rep. Benson said Nigeria is worth 500 billion dollars without adequate power supply, but India is worth 2 trillion dollars with power, a not too high margin in comparison to its regular challenges. "With a leader like Asiwaju, who can walk us out of power issues, Nigeria will thrive better as an economy, and a lot of youths will become self-employed rather than seeking government positions". "That's why on Election Day, everyone youth must not only be a voter for APC, but also a canvasser for the ruling party" Rep. Benson asserted Bldr Sesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, engaged the youths on the ideology behind the Progressive family. He explained that the All Progressives Congress's goal is to create free and rich Education, Infrastructure, Agriculture and other social amenities for the people. He continued, "The progressive family has existed since 1999 under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has had several names before now". "As the name implies we have always been progressive from the inception and there are lots of scorecards to show for it". "The Lekki Free Trade Zone is one of them and it was a vision that was foreseen and initiated by our leader Asiwaju" Bldr Daini added. Executive chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, lauded the organisers of the program, acknowledging that the engagement was designed to further position Ikorodu Division for more dividends of democracy through its voting strength in the forthcoming elections. According to her, "the youths must actively support the Renewed Hope agenda by voting for the presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, February 25th". "I am confident that the quality of insights shared by different speakers at the event will help put Ikorodu youths on the right track politically" Motunrayo concluded Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), former constituency 1 APC aspirant Yinka Majekodunmi, Comrade Folarin Adegboyega and Comrade Eniola Bada, amongst others, were in attendance. The program was hosted by former Ikorodu constituency 1 aspirant, Prince Eniola Adeyemi, also known as Wake-Up and convened by Comrade Olalekan Billiamin-Oba, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chairman.

Canvassing eligible voters and creating awareness across communities on practical ways to vote in the forthcoming elections, the movement is evaluated as one of the largest in structure. As APC Ikorodu Constituency 1 flagged off its campaign for the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 13th of February 2023, the socio-political movement did not disappoint, turning out en mass to assist Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, the party's aspirant. Established by the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and Ikorodu constituency 1 Representative, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, the group stormed Ita-Elewa Open space, the venue for the flag-off campaign event in their colourful native attire. Olowolagba Olawale, Onward Movement of Nigeria, principal coordinator in Ikorodu North LCDA, explained that all Onward members are APC members, and the group support all candidates backed by the party. Accentuating the leadership traits of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, Ikorodu constituency 1 and 2 aspirants, Gbolahan Ogunleye and Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, Mr Olawale noted that Onward members are ready to propel all aspirants to triumph. Olu Omoniyi, media director of the group disclosed to Ikorodu News Network (INN) that the socio-political movement is not just coming out to compliment the flagship campaign, but OMN is part of the system, set up to project the All Progressive Congress party's agendas. According to Omoniyi, the group has invested enormously in the electoral season by reaching out to non-members in a bid to convince them to get involved and endorse the party's quest for a landslide victory. He continued, "Onward Movement of Nigeria, just like the name, we're operating at a National scale, pressing towards realising a better Nigeria for all". "Here in Ikorodu, we're well structured across the LG/LCDAs, that's why you can see our massive representatives from different wards present to support OGA" Omoniyi asserted Hon. SOB Agunbiade, who was initially represented by the group, later made himself available at the climax of the campaign, joining Apex Leaders, council bosses, party aspirants and followers to mouthpiece backings for his successor. Agunbiade thanked the party leaders for consolidating its followers, explaining that as long as the party stays united, victory is assured on all fronts during the elections.

IKODIV 2023: 2ND EDITION OF IKORODU TRADE FAIR INTEGRATES MORE BUSINESSES, CREATES PEOPLE-ORIENTED TRANSACTIONS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 393ok3kekemm2540913322324610780 The business stimulative nature of the 2nd edition of Ikorodu Trade Fair also known as IKODIV has spurred the Lagos State Governor, Mr Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reaffirm his aim at providing a conducive environment and enabling business growth in the State. A collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, and the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, LASUSTECH, the Ikorodu Division Expo is organised by the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). Held at the LASUSTECH campus, It is organised to energise small-scale enterprises, recognising their key potential to an inclusive and sustainable recovery for economic development. The official opening of the trade fair peaked on Monday, 27th of March 2023, with likes of royal personalities; HRM, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM, Oba Abdul-Semiu Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, HRM, Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade-Agoro, Ranodu of Imota and HRM, Oba (Engr) Bashir Aremu Sotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo were all in attendance. Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. (Mrs.) Lola Akande at the opening ceremony, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Adetutu Ososanya, affirmed that the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu is intentional about implementing programmes and projects meant to support businesses in the State. She explained that projects like the Lekki Deep Sea Port in Ibeju Lekki; Lagos Rice Mill in Imota, here in Ikorodu; 18.75km Eleko-Epe six-lane rigid pavement expressway; the first phase of the 13 kilometres Lagos Blue Light Rail and others are all meant to enhance the State economy business scale. The President, of Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Chief Kayode Shoderu expressed his delight in the organisation of the Expo, which he described as part of the commitment to building sustainable MSMEs. According to Chief Shoderu, reiterating his earlier statement at the press conference before the launch, the Trade Fair (IKODIV) gives a platform to showcase products and services while exploring opportunities for growth and innovation. The Keynote Speaker and Lagos State Chairman, of the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), Dr Adams Adebayo emphasised the need to support MSMEs as they are the backbone of every economy. Dr Adams eliminated that the challenges confronting the MSMEs varied and include access to low-interest loans, inadequate infrastructure, subsistence and manual production, mindset and lack of innovative ideas. He continued, "Relevant institutions must create access to low-interest funds for entrepreneurs to access while there is a need for MSMEs to scale up their production to meet local and export needs". "I also want to advise the Government to create a three-year pre-retirement entrepreneurship/investment window to transform public servants into entrepreneurs", he stated. In his brief address, the Vice-Chancellor, of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya averred that the Trade Fair is an opportunity to grow the economy of the Ikorodu Division. Prof. Odusanya explained that focusing on the MSME sector can transform even the nation's economy and lift people out of poverty. In a sermon given to Muslim faithfuls on Wednesday, 29th of March 2023, marking the 71st birthday of Bola Tinubu, the chief Imam exhorted Nigerians to pray for the President-Elect, for Allah to bestow on him the ample disposition to oversee the nation. The liturgy was delivered after a special prayer and Thanksgiving session were held in the mosque dedicating Tinubu's birthday. Sheikh Ashaola, in his words, "Tinubu is the epitome of Intellectual capacity, a human resource developer and an economic stimulant, equipped for this time to rescue the shattered dreams of Nigerians".
