IKODIV TRADE FAIR 2023: ICCI PROMOTES 2ND EDITION OF BUSINESS EXTRAVAGANZA AT LASUSTECH, CALLS FOR MSMEs TO UTILISE VENDOR STANDS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 303kekkek834851880690957581 Building momentum towards linking business gaps between MSMEs, a press conference foregoing the 2nd edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair, organised by the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICC) took place on the 22nd of march 2023. Held at the boardroom of the Lagos State University Of Science and Technology in Ikorodu, the Trade Fair is billed to be a joint venture with LASUSTECH, ably supported by the State Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives. With the primary objective of promoting commerce, industry, and the economic growth of Ikorodu Division, Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) is spearheading the 2nd edition to further develop more networks between over 100 registered small and large-scale business owners, giving expansion tendencies thereof. Setting the conference in motion, Chief R.O Shoderu, President of ICCI, stated that the Chamber, over the years have helped tirelessly to create avenues of growth and improvement for businesses to thrive, asserting that they (ICCI) are proud to have made significant strides in achieving its objective. According to Chief Shoderu, the annual Trade Fair event, also known as IKODIV Trade Fair, is one of the many ways the ICCI has demonstrated its commitment to the economic development of the waterbed region in Lagos State. He continued, "This event provides a platform for entrepreneurs and business owners, including macro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to showcase their products and services, network, and engage in business transactions". Wishing everyone a fruitful and memorable experience at the fair, Chief Shoderu concluded his speech by appreciating its sponsors, partners, and exhibitors for their unwavering support towards making the 2nd edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair a success. Conversing briefly on the ICCI and Lasustech synergy, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odunsanya, Vice-Chancellor of Lasustech, expressed his optimism on the trade fair not only promoting the growth of individual businesses but also contribute significantly to the economic development of Ikorodu Division. He affirmed his confidence that with ceaseless support, Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will achieve even greater success in the coming years. An ICCI exco member, Prince Seye Adedipe, used the medium to call on the Lagos State Government over the poor condition of the industrial estate in the odogunyan axis of Ikorodu North LCDA. According to Prince Seye, both the Federal and State Government's purported promises is yet to yield. The vast industrial estate is considered the largest in west Africa. Prince Seye mumbled that if businesses must flourish then the industrial estate has to be rejuvenated, which would be an economic growth factor, not only in Ikorodu but all of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. Past President, Prof. Emeritus Kunle Ade Wahab, channelled his words of encouragement towards the media practitioners present at the press conference, instructing them to effectively propagate the course and essence of the Trade Fair, reaching out to licensed prospects. He also said that the media can equally play a big role in providing remedies towards challenges faced by the ICCI as underscored by Prince Seye if they carefully give emphasis to the plights and continuously sound the alarm for intervention. "The media should also help us reach out to everyone to visit the Trade Fair and witness, firsthand, the wealth of talent and entrepreneurial spirit that exists in our Division" Prof. Kunle Wahab asserted. Sola Obadimu, Director General of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, who was present at the conference lauded the ICCI for working on strategic means to create more business opportunities for traders. He also thanked Lasustech's administrators for joining heads together with ICCI to make the 2nd edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair a reality, citing that the collaboration is an open door for more futuristic synergies. Lagos NACCIMA exco, Mrs Helen Tabunor Ogedegbe thanked everyone for attending the conference, urging every stakeholder not to relent in their commitment towards making the 2nd edition a success. The conference was anchored by Mr Olarenwaju Kuye, PRO Lasustech. RAMADAN: LET’S IMBIBE LESSONS IN PIETY, TOLERANCE, SPEAKER OBASA TELLS MUSLIMS ®™√ INN Nigeria © img 20230123 wa00048640077968708294639 The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has said that the 30-day Islamic fasting allows the Muslim faithful to rededicate themselves to the religious tenet of piety, tolerance, forgiveness and love. Dr Obasa added that Ramadan is a period of sober reflection, supplication and humility beforeighty Allah. Obasa, in his Ramadan message released by Eromosele Ebhomele, his Chief Press Secretary, also congratulated Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria for having the divine privilege of being alive to partake in 'Sawm' and observe one of the five pillars of Islam. The Speaker equally described Ramadan as a period for Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria to show more commitment and adherence to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, especially in the area of almsgiving and love for one another. Noting that the fasting came at the right time for Nigerians as the country just conducted the 2023 general election with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the President-elect, the Speaker urged Muslims to pray for the leadership of the country as well as the incoming administrations at national and state levels. "We thank Almighty Allah for the privilege He has given us to partake in this Ramadan. We also thank Him for all that He has done for us individually, for our State and for our country. "Just as we seek the face of Allah for our individual needs for is period, let us also remember our country, especially at this time. We are happy Allah answered our Special Tawaf of last year on the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Now that victory has been recorded, let's all use this period to pray for the success of the forthcoming administration. "As we fast, let's not forget that almsgiving is a cardinal principle in Islam just like it is in every religion. We should spend each day sharing love and reaching out to others. "The Holy Qur'an instructs us to 'Spend in God’s cause: do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands, but do good, for God loves those who do good.' "Let's not also forget to be pious, humble, tolerant of each other and obey every of Allah's instructions now and always. Ramadan Kareem!" Obasa said while praying that every Nigerian would reap the reward of Ramadan.

Babayemisi Fakunmoju Kehinde was hosted by Estate Primary school, Low cost (agbala) in Ikorodu North LCDA on the 22nd of March 2023 as the institution organised its annual inter-house sports competition. Babayemi, the Grand patron of the greenhouse was received with excitement joining the school administration to cheer the pupils in different sporting activities, capping the highlight of the annual event. The event featured a match-past, a 100m race for males and females, a 200m race for males and females, picking the basket games and a dance competition. Babayemisi, among other special guests, were decorated by the pupils for their leadership support in sponsoring the houses. At the climax of the event, Hon. Fakumoju's greenhouse emerge in 2nd position in all the contests, and he was given the honour together with the head teacher of the school, Mrs Ibitoye Theresa, presenting a trophy to them. Talking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) post-trophy presentation, Hon. Fakunmoju expresses his joy in the overall organising of the program, giving credit to the school for putting together a successful event. He continued, "We thank God that another year has come and we're here again to celebrate our bright and elegant students in one of the most outstanding schools in Ikorodu division". "I am also grateful to God that none of the students sustained any injuries during the games they played, it shows how thoroughly the school has organised this occasion". "Last year, my team (the greenhouse) took 3rd position, this year they clinched the 2nd spot, and am hopeful that next year, they'll come out on top at the 1st position" Hon. Fakunmoju asserted.
