FOUR DAYS ONLINE CONFERENCE
The legislative arm of the Igbogbo Students’ Union uses this medium to host a webinar that will comrades of its body to understand better the need for a community-based union.
The webinar which might be the first of its kind from ISU SRC has been appreciated by many and look forward to gaining a lot from it.
There were several deliberations on it before the whole decided to make use of the theme. The details of the webinar:
Theme: A Voiceless Union
Date: Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 to Saturday, July 4th, 2020
Topic: Student as a vanguard to developing a community.
Day 2 Facilitator: Com. Biliamin Oba (NYCN Lagos State Chairmanship Aspirant)
Topic: What works? Student retention a frame work for action to enhancing student engagement at the community level.
Day 3 Facilitator: Sen. Comfort Olafare (Chairperson, Media & Publicity NYP)
Topic: The changing roles of Students’ Union within the community.
Day 4 Facilitator: Com. Oyeyemi Omobowale (Convener, Far Above Rubies)
Topic: The student union politics: A boon for students’ development.
Moderator: Mr Eromona Michael (Publisher Ikorodu News Network)
Hon. Comr. Kolejo Fathia, Clerk of the house also informs the populace (Students) that there’s a need for most to participate in this as this will help to open the understanding minds of students in the society. She also stated that at the end of each lecture/day, there will be giveaway as a way to encourage us all.
The speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Clinton O. Adeniji while speaking to our correspondent said, the theme of this online conference also serve as a message to all comrades who have killed the aluta warriors in them and told them this is the time to resurrect it. The speaker believes that after this online conference many will rise and there will be a need for us to get many things we deserve back from the IBLCDA.
