IMG_20200627_170812_1It was a changing of the guards on Saturday the 27th of June at the Concord Events Centre for the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club.20200628_190346-COLLAGE

Members as well as Associates and special guests from different communities in Ikorodu graced the handover meeting of the club’s leader from its 2019/2020 to 2020/2021 administration.IMG_20200627_151751

The meeting was presided over by the outgoing president of the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club, Lion Ahmed Adesanya Ajayi NLCF who in his opening remarks welcomed all the members and guests present and outlined the essence of the meeting proper.

“One year of selfless service could never be possible if not for the unrelenting support of you my dear lions, There are projects we ventured into that brought the best us, We had members coming to support our courses and demand for their names not be mentioned. I am humbled and with the Dept of one year service experience I am saying thank you from the depths of my heart” Lion Ahmed Ajayi.IMG_20200627_145046_1

Lion Odupe Olatunji Azeez the programs manager and secretary of the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club was called upon to ascertain the different projects undertaken by the club in the course of one year which he delivered in an official review pattern. The financial status of the club was also disclosed to the entire members with transparency reflecting the balance brought over after project expenditures.

While some members questioned the financial leftover Lion Oguntolu Morayo NLCF who’s the Treasure of the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club stepped in to tally the report and rectified the inappropriate figures thereafter.20200628_185800-COLLAGE

Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi Oluwaseun JP Chairman NUT Ikorodu Branch who was the special guest speaker at the meeting expressed his overwhelming satisfaction with the movement of the club and their clear humanitarian objectives.

He also spoke about his surprise on the transparent display of the club in both their financial dealings and leadership administration. Hinting a forseeable partnership between the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club and the National Union Of Teachers Ikorodu chapter in the near future.20200628_190027-COLLAGE

“I must applaud Lion Ahmed Adesanya Ajayi NLCF of the Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club for all the successful project completed between 2019/2020, It is indeed a blessing to Ikorodu that you have decided to become an agent of change through this club and God will continue to uplift you for all your contributions to our dear Ikorodu.IMG_20200627_143743

But I must also insert at this point that in as much as the club has dedicated herself to uplifting the communities and Institutions, it should be noted that if you must have plans for our students then you should not forget about our teachers in Ikorodu. They are also making sacrifices and should be appreciated for their contributions as well” Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi added.20200628_185923-COLLAGE

Before he rang the bell for his final time as President Lion Ahmed Adesanya Ajayi NLCF appreciated members of the club that paid their dues at a very early stage with a special shirt piece.20200628_185634-COLLAGE

He gave a warm pictorial frame present to his leadership rank members for all their support which has made his tenure a successful one.

It followed with the handover as Lion Ahmed Adesanya Ajayi took off his medal and wore it on the new incoming president Lion Adefunke Esan NLCF and cutting of the cake while a section of pictures was taken to mark the meetings end.IMG_20200627_175111
