Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission, has commenced a five-day capacity development training for 90 Basic Education Quality Assurance Officers on new teaching techniques and classroom evaluation.
Speaking at the training workshop, the Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, said the training is to ensure that basic education quality assurance officers in the State are updated with modern techniques and technology for learning and teaching.
He added that the training is also aimed at ensuring that the beneficiaries adopt best global practices in line with LASUBEB’S mandate of upscaling and improving the skills of its teaching personnel.
While noting that LASUBEB has adopted a Cluster System for quality control, the Chairman stated that officials of LASUBEB will henceforth be in charge of coordinating schools within certain specified areas in their localities.
The Permanent Board Member in charge of Basic Education Quality Assurance, Mr. Dayo Israel, called on parents to take advantage of the Board’s teaching and learning platforms on electronic and social media to encourage their wards to learn while at home.
