LAGOS STATE’S FIRST LADY MEETS ACTING COMMISSIONER FOR AGRICULTURE, DISCUSS WOMEN IN AGRO-PROCESSING ~ INN Nigeria
1 min readToday, I had the pleasure of receiving a team from the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture led by Hon. Acting Commissioner Ms. Abisola Ruth Olusanya to deepen discussion on how women can tap into the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support.
The project, funded through a tripartite arrangement between the Federal Government, Lagos State Government and the World Bank, aims to enhance agricultural productivity of Small and Medium Scale farmers, especially women and youth in three value chains – Poultry, Aquaculture and Rice Farming.
This is in line with the developmental agenda of Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to encourage more people to embrace farming, while also addressing critical issue of food security.
The Lagos State Government will continue to come up with initiatives such as the APPEALS Project to empower residents to contribute to the bid to increase food production and add value to what farmers produce to encourage export, thereby also helping to lift many out of poverty.
