BABA IJESHA PLEAD NOT GUILTY IN COURT, DENIED BAIL TO REMAIN IN DETENTION TILL JULY ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Nigerian actor, Olanrewaju James (popularly known as Baba Ijesha), was on Wednesday brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for alleged sexual assault and attempted rape of a minor.

The 48-year-old actor was arraigned on a four-count charge of sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration, attempted rape and indecent treatment of a child.

Baba Ijesha was granted bail on the 17th of May 2021, but the decongestion of the Nigerian judicial system has helped his case too.

According to his lawyer, “the actor has been plagued with fragile health for quite some time”

“The actor was granted bail with the condition to pay 500,000 naira, have a blood relative to make shorty and present a level 16 civil servant for his clearance”

“Due to the sensitive nature of the case which has already given the actor negative condemnation and judgement on social media, it has subsequently scared away individuals from coming to vouch for his bail granting process” Baba Ijesha’s Attorney

Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwaka took the plea of the defendant but ruled that his bail application should be taken at the Lagos High Court.

Nwaka adjourned the case until July 14 for mention.
