A courageous statement by Lion Babatunde Shobowale (President of Ikorodu metro lions club) as the service-based association took its support measure to residents at Parafa area of Ikorodu on the 20th of October 2021.

The Vision orientation program saw both the old and young inhabitants converged at the INN event centre just opposite Hypo manufacturing plant (company) for a duration of 7 hours to undergo free eye check up and sensitisation practises.

With a total of 210 beneficiaries at the program; 150 glasses were issued to patients with eye correction plights, 76 prescription drugs were given to other patients while 20 individuals with delicate eye problems were shortlisted for cataract surgeries subsequently.

High blood coercion and sugar level testing were furthermore introduced to the program to give participants varieties of mediums to check their health status.

“Due to reasons that our meals are not mostly balance diet, it is very important for us to always check our health status, And Ikorodu metro lions club has made it possible for the people of parafa to review their vision today”

“As you can see all our voluntary members are on deck to assure the process goes peacefully and successfully, some of them are even the ones that did the survey for us to take this program here which we did at Odogunyan last year” Lion Babatunde Shobowale

In his brief chat with INN, Lion Tunji Oredipe (Service Chairperson of Ikorodu metro lions club asserted more light into program execution.

“This (eye screening program) is our annual project which has been done this way for the past 18years on every October to mark the world sight day. With doctors on ground to grant medical advise to all partakers, we ensure they all go through the process of understanding the significance of good vision, afterwards the testing begins”

“Medical professionals are on ground executing the project and also we have doctors from Eye foundation Ijebu imushin area for an oversight, engaging the residents and acquainting them with subsequent surgeries or prescription pills if need be”

“Those who we deem fit to undergo the cataract surgeries will be referred while others will receive drugs and also be issued glasses based on the state of their eye sightedness” Lion Tunji Oredipe added
