Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun is a noble son of Egbin, Ijede, Igbogbo, and Ikorodu towns. He is a descendant of the Gbarule Royal Family of Egbin Kingdom, a wing of the Obateru Royal Family in the Ijede Local Council Development Area.
This lineage extends to the Onadugba wing of the Rademo Royal Family of Ikorodu. Through his mother, Hammed also hails from the Ogumuyiwa branch of the Ladega Royal Family of Ijede, also in the Ijede LCDA.
Both of his parents have ancestral roots in the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area.
His father belongs to the prominent Aroyewun Family of Perufu in Igbogbo, while his mother is from the renowned Odusegun Family of Mokun, Igbogbo.
His extended families also have strong affiliations with the prestigious Abosan and Itunla communities.
Hammed received his early education at Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, and continued at Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Igbogbo.
He trained as a teacher at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in 2002. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, in 2007.
He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
From 2007 to 2008, Hammed served the compulsory one-year National Youth Service at the Yobe State Government Secretariat.
In 2010, he joined the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Supervisor.
Since then, he has consistently deployed his skills, charisma, and tireless energy to grow the state’s revenue base. He rose through the ranks and currently serves as a Senior Revenue Officer.
Hammed developed an early interest in politics, aligning with progressive ideals from his formative years.
He is a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Notably, he served as a member of the Evaluation and Monitoring Committee of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group during the 2018–2019 elections.
The committee provided valuable intelligence that boosted the campaign’s success.
He was also screened and nominated by the APC Apex body in the Ikorodu Division to serve as a commissioner in the current Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration.
Hammed was a member of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Local Organising Committee (2021) for the election of Senator Tokunbo Abiru as Senator representing Lagos East.
He also serves as the Youth Leader of the Indomitable Tinubu Support Organization (TSO) in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and was the youth representative for Ikorodu Division at the just-concluded national APC convention.
He has a long-standing record of community service. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman/Director of Programs at DE Vanguard, a socio-political group operating in the Ikorodu Division. He is also a distinguished member of the Egbin Emancipated Youth Movement.
Hammed is the Publicity Secretary of the Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA) and serves on the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee.
He is an active member of Concerned Ikorodu Division Youths and has been a member of the Organising Committee of the Igbogbo Youth Coalition since 2019. He also chaired the Electoral Committee of the Igbogbo Students’ Union.
Professionally, he is a member of the Association of Economists and Statisticians of Nigeria (AESN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
Hammed enjoys public speaking, especially on themes that inspire integrity and altruism in young people. He is married with children and is a practising Muslim.
His core focus areas include Education, Social Welfare, Youth Emancipation, Food Security, and Community Development, with an educational theme: Education Empowerment for Poverty Eradication in Ikorodu Constituency II.
