IKORODU LG PARTNERS SHIFT NIGERIA, ORGANISE FREE MEDICAL CHECK-UP FOR 300 RESIDENTS, PROVIDES 200 FREE MEDICATED GLASSES ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

A triumphant free Medical Check-up program was organised by Ikorodu Local Government in collaboration with Shift Nigeria at the TeensMatta YouthHub, Ita Elewa in Ikorodu.

To provide knowledge regarding diet, exercise and weight control, Free tests on sugar levels, malaria, high blood pressure and eye depletion, over 300 residents in Ikorodu local government were catered for on the 13th of August 2022.

Provision of Free drugs was moreover made accessible following tests performed in addition to the more than 200 free eye medicated glasses given to those found to suffer from sight difficulties after medical examinations.

Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, mounting the front row seat during the community aid procedure conveyed the need for inhabitants to benefit from a programme of this essence, asserting his gratitude to Shift Nigeria for ensuring professional medical experts came on board to cater to Ikorodu dwellers.

Adesina stated, “Health is wealth, and creating a platform for our people to evaluate their health status for free is very significant in these times of unpredictable climate adjustments”.

“As a people, we’re expected to know our health status once in every 3 months, and for shift Nigeria to come and partner with us in achieving this course, it’s considered a thing of joy”.

“Our government has decided to bring this program to the grassroots to ensure that our people are physically fit, and we’ll be making this exercise a yearly course to ensure we stay consistent in improving longevity”.

Adesina furthermore, urged the good people of Ikorodu local government to always take medical action as a lifestyle, noting that, it is not all about money, but mostly about staying healthy so everyone can fulfil their purpose in life.

Demola Dada, board member, Shift Nigeria and project coordinator explained to Ikorodu News Network (INN) that the partnership with Ikorodu local government was key to gaining access to those who genuinely require medical attention.

He proceeded, “Shift Nigeria consists of donors that contribute money to us whenever we have a project to execute, but when it comes to facilitation, synergies of nature have to come to play for us to tap into the grassroots and make our presence felt more effectively”.

“If not for the local government we couldn’t have been able to accomplish this exercise today, this is why we want to extend our appreciation to Hon. Wasiu Adesina for his support”.

“For the beneficiaries, I must say that awareness is key, we’re doing this for them to extend the tips to the other members of their families and friends, one at a time, we are sure to come next year, just like the chairman said, we’ll continue to cater for as many as we can” Demola concluded.
