IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERS KAODWAD & ASSOCIATES, ORGANISES DEBATE COMPETITION FOR PUBLIC SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN IKORODU DIVISION ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Opportunities presented themselves yet again to public senior secondary schools across Ikorodu division to showcase their senses as Ikorodu local government partners Kaodwad & Associates.

With 16 schools assigned, sorted into 2 sets and stretched for 2 preliminaries, the spotlight gave route for the 2022 outstanding debate competition which kicked off on the 21st of September 2022.

Creating a niche for pupils to exhibit bravery, research, strength and brilliance, the contest is all, aimed at boosting students’ performance levels in a public setting.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, addressed everyone in attendance before the start of the contest and explained the motive his government deemed fit to propel the educational bout.

According to the council boss, his administration is open to every channel to enhance the standard of education in the entire Ikorodu division.

He continued, “Aside from putting infrastructures in place, organising competitive programs like this, is another way to promote education and allow our students to show what they have learnt in school to the rest of the world”.

“The council partnered with Kaodwad & associates after seeing what they have to offer, understanding the significance of education to any region, and so this debate contest has come to stay”.

“To further add value to this contest, we’re given 500k (five hundred thousand naira) to the first position, 300k (three hundred thousand naira) to the second position and 200k (two hundred thousand naira) to the third position respectively”.

Adesina further added that Laptops and other educational items will be added as gifts to the cash prize winners as a way to encourage them in taking studies seriously.

Complimenting the chairman’s speech, Mr Adeyinka Kazeem, CEO, Kaodwad & Associates later explained to Ikorodu News Network (INN) that his company came into the program to help the council successfully organise the debate.

Adding that the government cannot do it all alone, Mr Kazeem said if other private agencies can get involved in programs of such in synergy with the council, a lot of educational challenges will be resolved in society.

After the first preliminary debate stage, Oriwu senior model college, Elepe senior grammar school, Ayangburen senior high school and United senior secondary school qualified for the second round.

The second preliminary stage is set to take place at Oriwu senior model college on the 28th of September 2022.
