The association, which had earlier installed a 3-water way system for the junior secondary school section that same week, used the convergence as a medium to also raise funds to acquire 100 units of iron frame chairs and tables for the school.
In his welcome address, Olatunji Shakioye expressed his delight members made themselves available despite their busy engagements.
“Through the help of technology, social media to be precise, our set was able to gather her membership in the last 8yrs”.
He stated that after meeting up, the set resolved to provide 50 sets of computers to the college, which they accomplished. Adding that they’ve also provided Water Supply System to both junior and senior schools after donating 200 pairs of uniforms to both junior and senior schools.
“Our next project is the provision of iron framed chairs and tables to the school, and we promise to do more. We have also engaged ourselves to assist our members who are widows and others that need to be assisted” Shakioye asserted
Expressing his profound joy, Comrade Olalekan Pelumi Rado, Chairman, Planning Committee noted that the ’97 set is proud to be associated with the premier school learning about their recent accomplishment.
Comrade Pelumi went on, “Oriwu Model College was established in 1949 by noble sons and daughters of the division to provide sound and quality secondary education for the residents and am privileged like my colleagues to have attended and reference the educational institution which moulded our lives and made us better citizens of the state”.
“Oriwu College has produced leaders and captains of industries in both private and public sector of Nigeria’s economy and in recognition of these valuable impacts on the 1997 set that the old Students have come to pay back to the school through the 2 in I Program”.
“This ceremony further consolidates the previous one by recognising people and corporate organisations who have contributed immensely to the image making and growth of our Alma Mata through our set” Comrade Pelumi added.
Mrs Ayojide K.O, Principal, Oriwu junior model college in her brief remark reminded the association of what they called her nickname back in the day and she never regretted seeing how they’ve turned out successful in life.
“Back then I remember you all use to call me a nickname every time you see me, you thought I wasn’t aware of it but I knew all along, today looking at you, I am happy to speak with you knowing the nickname wasn’t in vain”.
She added, “If I wasn’t helping you with the disciplines I gave you back then as your English teacher, am not sure I’ll be confident enough to seat here with you today”.
“You’re now a formidable force around this region. With confident that you will go beyond this based on your continuous contribution to this school. In a nutshell, I am proud of the feats most of you have accomplished in life” Mrs Ayojide inferred
Principal, Oriwu senior model college, Mr Bello Akeem, who came as a special guest, extolled the ’97 set as formidable, citing their pace-setting tendencies

“Today, you’re using this anniversary to raise 3 million naira fund for a 100unitst of iron frame chairs and tables. It speaks of your passion to serve and return the favour that was deposited in you 25years ago”.
“Even though, Most of the pupils you’re supporting do not know you from anywhere, am sure that God will not forget you as you’ve decided to sow into the lives of our students” Mr Bello added
